Re: "Why did you do it? Why did you do this thing to me?"
I picked it up from a seller who has become a better guitar repairman over the years , and seemed pretty ashamed of all of the mods. I offered a price for the body, and he countered with a LOWER price.
As for the driver's license analogy, in the 80's and early 90's, Jaguars were kinda like a "Learner's Permit" sort of guitar that was cheap and unwanted, so there was less risk in going hog wild with the mods. ...so if you wanted a well-made guitar to try adding a hardtail or a Kahler to...
On the plus side, there was no locking nut chiseling, or pointy headstock reshaping done to the neck!

One would hope, but I'm having difficulty trusting in either of those at the moment, sadly.

It's one of those "I can do anything I want to it, I'm never going to sell it" situations.

I saw that guitar for sale somewhere else recently - can’t remember where. I was interested but maybe it’s for the better that I ultimately forgot to follow it up.

Somebody buy it and straighten the pickups out. That crooked mess is killing me.

For what the actual hammer price ended up being I'd have loved to own that Mustang. Simply too cool with all the 70s/80s mods and a sticker on the back that might have been on a Dinosaur Jr. album cover. I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Minor in the greater scheme of things, but I'm still asking myself "why?!"
