Your prettiest and ugliest pedals (show pics!)
Hey all,
I feel we’ve been lacking fun little threads recently, so how about posting pics of the prettiest or ugliest pedals in your collection.
And yes, it’s all personal taste, so there is no right or wrong
The aesthetic could be influenced by colour, shape, design, state of decay, sentimentality, or anything else that makes it look good or ugly to you.
The sound of the pedal is not important.

My prettiest:
I love looking at the Boss Waza chorus. The colour is the main reason - that shade of blue just gets the happy chemicals going in my brain. I like the simplicity and symmetry of design, and the metallic Waza logo is pretty cool.

Prettiest pedal would be my MBM Salt Shaker Tremolo. It’s shoreline gold. I’ve kept it in good condition somehow.
My ugliest would be my Black Russian Big Muff. It’s totally beat to a snot, but functions just fine.

This thread is worthless without pictures… I will have to post mine after I get home.

For me the ugliest is also the prettiest.

That’s some serious patina.
How does a pedal end up in such condition?

Damn. That’s uglier than Johnny’s. Uglier than mine too. I’ll have to choose a different ugly pedal now.

Re: Your prettiest and ugliest pedals (for fun)
So, I have a self imposed rule for myself these days, that I only use pedals I've made myself. It works for me and I don't spend any time or money on new pedal releases.
Anyway, my prettiest is probably my Rat. I worked up the graphics and had it UV printed. The sweep knob is basically an variable Ruetz mod. It lives in Turbo mode, with the sweep at 9 o'clock and drive at noon
My ugliest is an Acupulco Gold copy with a too big Cheeba Chews sticker with flappy edges, and a giant green LED. It was my first perf board build.

Tantalizing Turquoise or Pretty in Pink? These are the best looking ones I own. I’m partial to the Tonebender myself.
For the ugly ones - An old Big Muff that has seen some things, and the Jekyll and Hyde is a weird wedge shape, the knobs look like 80s leftovers and the font is old German style, not Victorian England. As a design there’s just too much conflict.

I am also a member of the Tonebender club, but mine is a big yellow hybrid, and I love that it's big and yellow and has the comic graphics on it. I'm also a huge fan of hand-painted Zvex, so my Fuzz Factory is definitely one of the coolest looking ones that I have.
The ugliest ones I own are probably two Muffs. The black Russian is already pretty industrial looking but the paint is bubbling around the sides and in the corner, and you can't see it here but the battery box cover is missing and the hole is covered with cardboard and gaffer tape. The NYC one has seen a bit of action, I went to change the knobs a while back and then lost the originals somewhere, and I've managed to knock the LED into the enclosure and can't be bothered to take it apart and poke it back through.
