Compared to some of the guitars that have been restored by talented people on this forum, that one needs relatively little work.

As a lefty, I wonder if the ‘mod’ was done out of practicality due to someone playing it upside down.

Anyway, the asking price is definitely too steep, but i hope someone saves it.

dig out those Kluson bushings. ...they're made of GOLD!

C'mon folks, stop doing this. Arghhhh! so sad to see an otherwise pristine headstock with long chips torn out.

Another way of treating a comically large headstock:

The rest is not too bad, is it?

Pop is the most wonderful music – as long as it's played with three basses, a string section, and two french horns going "Vroop-Vrooo".

Nothing structural but ghosts of classiness past that may be even more depressing.

This wrecked Kramer Aluminium Neck bass.

Good pickup choice, terrible execution, the thing looks like it was put together out of wood blocks by a child.

Agreed. This is about the same price as a used reissue or vintage G&L L-1000.

Absolutely, whenever I think of L-1000s I think of Dr Balls amazing perfectly aged 1980 Goldtop.Image

Thanks, yall. Bought it off Reverb right before the pandemic hit for a whopping $900.

There's a 1981 brown/maple one on Reverb right now for $1400 which is rather fair but the shipping from Canada is like $200. Nanaimo is cute though, so maybe its worth a local pickup? https://reverb.com/item/73060307-g-l-l1000-1981-brown

Great deal. I have a G&L Lynx which from what I understand is another version of the SB2. I've only seen a couple of Lynx's since I got mine 30 years ago.
