Never thought of it that way, but I suppose you're right. And yeah, it's a heavy slab. Not as favored? Great, more for me!

I edited it out of the shot and I'm typing from work so I'm not sure, actually, but I'll check for you when I get home. I'm pretty sure it's not S800 though.

Thanks for the comments! I'll look into the witch hats.

That's one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen!  :-*
There is no problem so bad that you can't make it worse.

Wow, great guitar and another Man or Astroman? fan! YES! Welcome. (They are also one of my greatest influences, one of the most memorable live shows I ever saw...)

....Listen to it Paul,Listen to the voice.....

I never owned a Gretch or a Mosrite, been playing Man or Astroman tunes on JM's and Jag's for the last 6 years or so, I'd say both come close....

From seeing them more times then I know how to count, the Astroman guitar player (Brian Causey AKA Star Crunch) used a vintage Gretsch Tennessean and a 2x10 SF Vibrolux Reverb pretty much always.  They were soooo great back then.  I own the first 2 7"s they ever released along with an early copy of the Is it Man or Astroman? on vinyl.  One of my old bands also opened for the Gamma Clones in Atlanta as well...  fun as hell that was.  Little known fact that Causey also toured playing guitar with the Archers of Loaf on the White Trash Heroes jaunt.

they wouldn't be correct on this one though ;)
(they went back to strat type knobs and split shaft pots sometime in the late 70s )

Yup, as Nolan said....witch hats would look indeed great on that JM....that guitar has some serious mojo imo....schweeeeeetttttt!!!!!

And as for Man or Astroman? They really turned me to intersting music, after seeing their show, a whole new wold opened for me. (I think it was '94 or so) and I was stuck on Punk and Metal, but these guys "blew it all to hell". I quickly started collecting their stuff, lost them over Eeviac though. But their early albums are  :? :? (Experiment Zero and Project infinity are my favorites)

Hmm, not sure I'm totally sold on the witch hat look. And the fact that it's not "correct" just kinda seals that one up. :)
