I've never played one, but I wouldn't expect them to be very good, despite what people are saying.
Not a fan of how they look. P90s instead of JM pickups? OH THE INSANITY! But I like p90s.

I mean, obviously I wouldn't keep it stock, I might even use it as a base for my Stagg Jazzmaster/Jaguar project here index.php?topic=845.0 As something a little different, because it has evrything already routed for £60/£70

Le bump - I've been eying these up for quite a while, and have mailed Kurt, the bloke who runs Rondo, and he WILL mail them to the UK. Huzzah! Just drop him a line; some of your warranty is effected, but that's what you'd expect anyway. I'm going to get one after my next major eBay clearout.

Yeah, I'm gonna get it and mod it a fair bit, humbucker bridge p/u and some weird wiring. I'm thinking one switch for South Coil/ Parallel/ North Coil and once for Series On/Off + Maybe a maple tele neck I'm emailing him right now

Do you think it's worth £110 for that When I could save up for a bit longer and get a CIJ? I already have half the amount I need for a JM and I could probably get one by april.

Just my opinion, but: no.

Stock CIJ Jazzmasters are decent instruments, even though there's lots of upgrades people like to do to them. I've never really heard anyone with anything good to say about a Rondo, and you certainly wouldn't be able to sell it for anywhere near what it would cost you new.

Look at it this way: if you had the Rondo, would you still want a Jazzmaster? .. and vice versa?
Distance-crunching honcho with echo unit.

Haha... that Alden looks pretty cool for the price!

I'll bet a Fender-style neck would bolt right up, but I wonder if an AV trem would fit in there?  Is that a tuna-matic I see?
