Re: Fender Jazzmaster Jaguar trem unit video
This is my opinion. Others may have a totally different opinion and that is 100% fine:
- Hats off for making a video. Most people never do this. You equipment and knowledge is great.
- Cut the semi porn woman at the start, it’s not cool in 2020
- Get to the point, I’m 1.5 minutes in an still nothing
- Process your audio. Here is my guide: https://youtu.be/ntla19ujg5M
- Eating hummus isn’t funny
- Align your eyes 2/3 up the screen to appear natural. Watch movies and you will see they do this too. Bottom 1/3 alignment is for villains.
- Weird filters are distracting. The side cuts are distracting because they are too similar and unfunny.
- I’m 5.5 minutes in and I am getting irritated. I’m having to work out differences for myself (slowly) instead of being told. I’m feeling annoyed more than informed and entertained.
- I would have liked a Mexican tremello in the mix as found on Player and Squire models
"I own a '66 Jaguar. That's the guitar I polish, and baby - I refuse to let anyone touch it when I jump into the crowd." - Kurt Cobain

At last I did it to get more into the work with imovie.
The audio is bad, yes... the pic quality should be better.
Yes, I am the contrast to all the professional videos out there.
We will see how the next video will be..
I have no Mexican Tremolo or Squier...
It starts... when it begins.

I liked it...almost like watching a David Lynch movie, but with cool info on offset tremolo units...I even wanted to have a humus snack at one point. You should keep making them.supersonicjazzmaster wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2020 11:28 amHi,

Re: Fender Jazzmaster Jaguar trem unit video
Wow. That was challenging viewing, but i got through it.
I don’t have an issue with the amateurish production; in fact i enjoyed that aspect.
However...I’m a bit confused. Is it meant to be an informative piece, or an art film?
The guitar-related content could have easily been compressed into about 3 minutes.
The eating and drinking was fairly annoying, and licking the guitar near the end a bit weird. Man, i don’t want to know what you keep in your basement.

I know my feedback was blunt, but man, keep going! You know your stuff better than a lot of people. Just keep going, keep improving, and you will make excellent content!supersonicjazzmaster wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2020 11:28 amHi,

I found it an entertaining video, it made me laugh.
But yeah, during the 'VirtuaGirl' moment I was more like: " ...uh...okay then..."

Honestly I liked it. I thought it was funny and entertaining. Maybe get rid of the dancing girl though, it's pretty tacky.
Oh, and the licking was super creepy and off putting. Lol. But I did mostly enjoy the rest.

Re: Fender Jazzmaster Jaguar trem unit video
Hello,
thanks for your really open feedback. I like this. High appreciated!
Yes, it´s not professional at all... Maybe I don´t get it "better".
Anyway, yes, the bad tone sucks for me also..
For some people it´s strange and creepy. So this is kind of a compliment for me.
David Lynch comparison. Yes, I had him in mind a bit. I grew up with all those creepy movies. Love it.
Soon, there will be another short video from me.
It will be "amateur style" again.
I will keep my "style" and my humour. My talking and acting is impulsive. When I lick a guitar... it happens..
There are a lot of "professional" guitar videos out there, comparisons of guitars, pedals, amps and so on, blabla. A lot of narcissistic guys... What I miss, is the humour and fun in 95% of all those videos.
Doing videos is comparable to making music. With my band, I compose (we compose) songs which we love to play. If someone else will like it, great!
If not, okay. This is art. Do what you want, what you love. But do it.

Just my opinion but I'd drop the girl, refrain from licking the Jag, and finish my food off camera. You could do yourself a favor by improving your editing chops. The timing and amount of quirky bits could actually make this fun, but right now it's laborious and I already stopped watching it. I rather ask questions/search here for the same content. Hope that helps ya..

Yeah, thanks for reply. Yes, editing better would be good all in all.. ...I know...Debaser wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 6:51 amJust my opinion but I'd drop the girl, refrain from licking the Jag, and finish my food off camera. The girl in the beginning is so embarassing, yes. ...I just tried those green screen effects a bit with this video.
I guess the timing is a huge point, yes. I also made it especially slooooow because of all of those "fast cutted" and hectic videos.
Thanks for your opinion.

yep. The woman isn't there to serve the video. Her presence is super tacky.soggy mittens wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2020 10:33 pmYeah I didn't make it past the intro, f__king disgusting. Mixing informative with drawn out ironic art videos.... Well id rather just see text in bullet points on a page to fair for the information. Any video link annoys me. On the other hand i was checking out "christian sciene junior bible lesson show" so replacing stripper malware popup with alien puppets singing about jesus could be a way to go.

Re: Fender Jazzmaster Jaguar trem unit video
I'm with you there. With a few exceptions like the JHS Pedal Show and the occasional Rick Beato video, with didactic content, I'd rather just read about it. What takes 10 minutes in a Youtube video, I can usually read in under a minute. I typically tune out on videos and really despise that it seems to be the preferred teaching/learning method these days.jorri wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 5:47 amMixing informative with drawn out ironic art videos....
