I'm renting one for a month, I'll probably end up buying it.
I stuck all the effects I use normally into the fx loop of the SY-1 and dial in for the synth sounds to follow what I normally play.
Wondering what anyone else puts in front of the SY-1 just for a not so obvious sound.
any pedals behind the SY-1 will also affect what's in the fx loop.
pedals in front of a SY-1?

Re: pedals in front of a SY-1?
I got one of those a while ago but haven't sat down with it to figure out where best to put it, not much info online yet either. I put it towards the end of my chain near my pitchfork as I prefer that post dirt. Will eventually experiment properly tho as I'm not even sure if I will just try to use it with delay and reverb that is after it.
If OSG has tort me anything...

Well, I thought a RAT would be a good choice since it's an od, dist. and fuzz.
So I put it in front of the SY-1.
In the fx loop I had a delay and phase, no dirts.
and the RAT dirtied up what was in the fx loop.
What I was going for was dirty synth with clean guitar. No dice.
I guess I'd have to use a Boss Line selector A+B mix to get what I'm trying to do.
But I played my EHX Random Tone Generator through the SY-1 and that was fun for a bit.
I'm sure the people living upstairs were impressed.

Re: pedals in front of a SY-1?
Hi! I've lurked on this board forever, but I just bought an SY-1 on a whim. There isn't a ton of info on it out there, so I'm happy to add jump in and add something!
I have it third in my chain, after an Aqueduct and Hot Cake. Both sound good going into it - the vibrato and gain can both push the SY-1 in super interesting ways, and they don't annihilate the input signal or effect. For example, I love my Aqueduct, but if I run it as anything other than first in the chain, it sounds weak.
Oh, and I run straight into the SY-1, I haven't really bothered with the side-chain thing it has.

Aqueduct is a fantastic pedal, vibrato is great, MBV mode is great, but it is also low-key a fantastic chorus.
