These were made in China, or Taiwan, can't remember but not Japan.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
Nothing on my workbench, but an hypothetical question: I've seen Bronco basses turned into Bass VI (Bass VIes? ), but how much work does represent doweling the 4 tuner holes and then drilling 6? For someone with very little tools and space, other than a simple Dremel? Hypothetically speaking, of course. Thanks!

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
swoop done ,i have move the Template to have Something more like the 66 marauder proto rather than the starcaster headstock where the swoop is smaller (big headstock in fact even with the swoop)
for the finish i think Something sparkly if i find some orange flake near me ,or a metalic ,blue or not ? i find i have already an ocean turquoise ,a sherwoodgreen guitar then Something more reddish ? lpb is cool but is too much waited for a marauder ,need Something more personal to my tastes

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
if you have an hand drill ,some glue ,some dowel is doable ,but made a Template before drilling the hole for correct spacing ,a support or drill colonne is better to have straight hole ,but with hand drill and some patience and a Template is totally doable(stewmac sale some drill Template for this ,i would love to have one but it is way too much expensive with all the taxe plus fdp to buy from stew for me )Gordon wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2020 9:30 amNothing on my workbench, but an hypothetical question: I've seen Bronco basses turned into Bass VI (Bass VIes? ), but how much work does represent doweling the 4 tuner holes and then drilling 6? Re: What's on your workbench right now?
How wide is the nut on your Bronco's bass? Some basses have necks that might be a tad too narrow to take 6 strings. I think vintage spec for the Bass VI is somewhere between 1 5/8" to 1 11/16". Some "regular" 4 string basses are closer to 1 1/2".Gordon wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2020 9:30 amNothing on my workbench, but an hypothetical question: I've seen Bronco basses turned into Bass VI (Bass VIes? ), but how much work does represent doweling the 4 tuner holes and then drilling 6? 1.5" (38.1 mm) But this transformation has been done before, I assume the playability isn't an issue.
