thanks people. after playing the guitar a while, i am now undecided on the pickups. they arent bad by any means but maybe not quite my cup of tea. ah well.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
realised i probably didnt love how the pickups sounded because a couple of the switches were intermittent. getting weird and quiet sounds sometimes. replaced the switches. all fully functioning now. much better. maybe a bit strat-like for my taste but much better and definitely usable. also, the black/white switches and knobs were an unforeseen improvement, i think.

That looks much better with the new switches and black knobs. Very nice job. Glad to hear the switches did the trick.

Just starting on the neck. Going for a cbs style headstock ebony board and blocks and binding.

just a champ. chassis has been done for a month or so, finally started tolexing the cab. going for 2 tone pink and seafoam with white welt/piping. trying to find a more mod looking grille cloth option. watermelon bubblegum/miami vice vibes to match my homemade pastel cables.

THAT is a cool color scheme, especially if you're going for a Miami Vice kind of vibe, as opposed to classic 1950s rock and roll. I like both, but the 80s vibe sounds awesome.hexes wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 12:11 amjust a champ. chassis has been done for a month or so, finally started tolexing the cab. going for 2 tone pink and seafoam with white welt/piping. trying to find a more mod looking grille cloth option. watermelon bubblegum/miami vice vibes to match my homemade pastel cables.

thanks! realized there is actual teal tolex too which would have been very 80s-90s but seafoam will work. i may not do a big parallel racing stripe, but something more angular and offset (kinda italic V shape with the seafoam: | \ | | (pink, green, pink) need to get to a router though.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 8:39 pmTHAT is a cool color scheme, especially if you're going for a Miami Vice kind of vibe, as opposed to classic 1950s rock and roll. I have two more amps plus a reverb unit that need cabinets and tolex. 6g15 verb, 6g2 princeton, and just started the main board for a 6g4-a brown super.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
Very nice Are the 6G15 and 6G2 both scratch-built amps as well?
