Punk kids at my school played a "flash" concert on the quad/library courtyard. Some unknown teacher unlocked the covers to the power outlets so they could plug in and play. The principal is a 63 year old woman who had know idea what to do. It was cool because the kids played songs from The Donnas (which is like the Ramones) and instantly became school rock stars. The singer is a 4'9 tiny 7th grade girl who was channeling Ozzy. I'm so proud of my students. :? :-*
I think we have a winner.

Saw The Near Jazz Experience ( feat members of Gallon Drunk and the bassist from Madness) in a local bar..... would have been going to All Points East Festival as it's held in the park opposite my flat.

Polyphia at The Grand Social in Dublin on February 7th, was going to be my only live show of the year anyway because of budgeting.

Really fun show, brought along a friend of mine who's just getting back into music after a long hiatus and it was sweet hearing him go on about how inspired he was by their performance.

Haven't played a gig with my band since last November so going a bit stir crazy because of it, on the plus side we released a new single just there in May this year that seems to have been pretty well received so chuffed at that.
