Search Issues
Just wondering what the wisdom is behind filtering so many words as "too common" in the search function?
I've tried going through Google, but the results point to the root forum instead of actual threads.
There's a ton of great wisdom here...It'd be nice to be able to access it!

Re: Search Issues
Not sure what you mean by this? If you search on "searchterm site:offsetguitars.com" what list of results do you get?

Re: Search Issues
I get a page of results for the given search term(s). But when you click on any of them, it just takes you to page 1 of the corresponding forum. For instance Vintage, New & Reissue, or Tech/Setup, etc.andy_tchp wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 3:35 pmNot sure what you mean by this? Re: Search Issues
That's very strange. What browser/OS are you using? Any add-ons?

I’m on Safari. Current Mac OS. I take it this is not normal behavior?
Question remains...I think of this site (probably not the only one) as the de facto forum for any Fender non-Strat/Tele info. Wish it was easier to tap into without the extra step of going to an outside search engine?

Correct, if you click on any of those search results it should take you straight into the relevant thread, not just the overall sub-forum.jc808 wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 7:03 pmI’m on Safari. Current Mac OS. I take it this is not normal behavior?

Yes, the in-built search function of the forum software isn't great, but using the Google engine is (usually ) straightforward and works very well.

Re: Search Issues
Yeah, unfortunately PHPBB has a pretty terrible search function. There's nothing that can be done about it outside of switching forum software and attempting that sort of move is fraught with potential problems.
I have no problem with searching google directing me to actual results. Firefox or Safari. Can you post an example of a search that isn't working?

Re: Search Issues
Thanks for the reply. I forgot to follow up last night...I fooled around with the Google search some more and realized the issue. After "site:", I had "www." in there and that was causing the issue. So yeah, it works now.Jay wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 12:24 pmYeah, unfortunately PHPBB has a pretty terrible search function.
