Re: What pedal have you had the longest?
My 1986 ProCo Rat (got it in 1993) and a 1991 MIJ Boss DD-3 (gift from my brother, bought new).
I actually just put them both on a Graham Coxon inspired board.
DD-3 -> VB-2W -> 86 RAT -> 94 RAT -> MXR CC

Re: What pedal have you had the longest?
Are you using the DD-3 on there with the freeze/stutter function, or just as an early delay?
The freeze function was my favorite thing about that pedal, and what kept me from selling it for a very long time.

Re: What pedal have you had the longest?
my boss CE-3. it's got a good story behind it.
so my dad was a bass player before i was born and bought this pedal brand new. when i was born, he sold most of his gear but in the 90's, chorus was considered kinda naff so he couldn't sell it. so he stuck it in the attic. so i started playing bass around 2001-2002 and my dad was super supportive and even would loan me great records to listen to. he showed me a picture of his old rig (he played in a band that sounded like talking heads made a record with rollins era black flag and locust abortion era butthole surfers, but was produced by king tubby) and he was like "yeah, i sold most the pedals, couldn't get rid of that fucking chorus" i asked if he knew what happened to it and he said no. a few months later we were looking in the attic (the cat got up there somehow) and we found it in an old suitcase. he asked if i wanted it, all i'd have to do was donate a weeks pocket money to charity and it was mine.
it still gets a lot of use.

The Hold setting? Nah, I never use that. I just use it as slapback or normal delay.
But I once had a DSD-2 and used the sampler mode like that. That's a great underrated delay.

Either a late 80s small box Rat or an undated, yellow box DOD 250.
I've had both since the early 90s and they still work fine and I use them.
It's neat how many folks here mention Rats as their longest-held pedal. They are built to last, for sure, and are so versatile as over-fuzz-stortions.

I've had to rebuild my '86 Rat a few times (something would short out with how crammed everything is in there) and I've gone thru 2-3 foot switches but yeah, it's still alive. I also modded mine for a Boss-style power jack and added a small green LED (added a 3PDT of course). I'll never part with it.

Re: What pedal have you had the longest?
while not as long as some on here. i've had my favorite rat II for about 12 years. i've got a few rat clones that have needed constant repairs (i have one we call china based on the running joke in the history of the world...... i guess video where china is always breaking apart) that sounds good but the rat II i've been using all these years just keeps going.

DOD Stereo Chorus FX65. I bought it new for about $65 around 1989 or 1990. I was really into Prog Rock and I thought the chorus created a cool dreamy sound. Wish I had bought a Rat or something cool but I tried a bunch of pedals and the cheap DOD Chorus gave me a sound a liked.

A Boss DS2 turbo distortion, from 1991/ 1992 I guess... I still use it sometimes but not often, the turbo mode is not that good but I like the normal mode with low gain.
I remember by then, locking a larsen through a small crappy Samick amp for hours, playing whith the trem arm. Must have been awful for the neighbours!

Jimi Hendrix Cry Baby Wah. Bought it around 1998. It's been modified by Solidgold fx since and it's still on my board.

I've got a Boss CS-1 which I bought used in 1981. It's only just been retired from my board in favour of a VFE White Horse.
