What pedal have you had the longest?
Electro-Harmonix Big Muff: a 1977 Op Amp on/off switch model.
Bought it used and broken, both the on/off and foot switch had stopped working, in 1993. Easy fix to replace the foot switch with a true bypass and eliminate the on/off.
I picked up my Space Echo around the same time, but it’s not a pedal.

Re: What pedal have you had the longest?
I think that would have to be the Keeley modded BD-2, a 4 knob comp and Katana. I bought those along with a modded DD-3 from him all at the same time, around 2006 or so, but sold the DD-3 sometime in the past couple of years. I may sell the comp, I have others and never quite got along with that one. The Blues Driver is great, it’s staying, and the Katana is a good clean or dirty boost, so I’m sure I’ll keep it as well.
Although I do still have an old Digitech everything pedal (I think it’s an RP 200A?), that I bought a few years earlier than those, and spent a long time programming patches from various settings that I found online way back then. I even sent the cereal box top in (UPC code) to get the hipster carrying case for it! I had forgotten about it, but I found it recently and I’m giving it to my nephew. If nothing else, he can use it to play through headphones with.
I think that pedal and my first Marshall amp (MG10 CD) is what soured me on digital distortion emulation. Some of the other effects in the pedal may not be quite so bad, I don’t know - I haven’t played it in forever.

Cry Baby - standard one. Bought it when I first heard Never Enough by the Cure, when that came out, so 1990. Never did learn to play that....
It’s very noisy now and needs a looking at.

Oh yeah, I have had my trusty Boss tuner since the very beginning too. Mine isn't the pedal version though.MechaBulletBill wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 2:36 pmi think it's the ts9 my dad got when i was little. i use it occasionally now but used it loads in my first band (it was the only effect pedal in the house at the time lol). other than that, my tu2. i've had since i was 13.

Weirdly enough, it’s Mooer Juicer. If you’ve heard of the DOD Juice Box, it’s a clone of that. It’s absolutely magic pushing any drive.

Re: What pedal have you had the longest?
Jeez, I’m really ashamed of myself. My first pedals are looong gone. I change pedals like clothes. Not at all satisfied with my board. I keep “chasing” that sound and sell some and trade some every so often. Pedals are always the first thing that gets sacrificed. My first pedal was one of the big Octavio fuzzes. Didn’t like it, nor know how to use it at the time. Now I’d love to have one again
I guess the oldest living pedal I have is my korg pitch black tuner

This thread was influenced by my checking out the “Strictly Fuzz” thread on gear page. So much pedal flipping!Unicorn Warrior wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 4:27 pmJeez, I’m really ashamed of myself. I've had my Ringstinger since 2001. Many, MANY pedals have come before and since. My trusty RV-2, MuTron Octave Divider, and Moog delay are close seconds, at about 17-18 years for the first two and 15 for the Moogerfooger.

Re: What pedal have you had the longest?
Almost all of my early pedals are also long gone. I'm happy that I didn't save much, as most of my early stuff was pretty bad. The pedal I've had longest now is my Keeley-modded BD-2 Blues Driver, though I still haven't finished rehousing it. I think Pat has the Boss enclosure
EDIT: Thought I put the date in. I got the BD-2 around 2005/2006.

Re: What pedal have you had the longest?
In the early 2010s I sold all my pedals gradually and just went guitar > amp.
After a while I went back on a pedal-buying spree...the pedal I still have from that buying spree is my silver Klon Centaur. According to my mac, I bought it in February of 2016. This was my second Klon Centaur, the first one was sold in that pedal purge...it was actually the last to go.
The one I have now is never going anywhere!

Re: What pedal have you had the longest?
BOSS GE-7 that I got second hand in 1999, it is dated november 1987.
Also a Rat2 from 1999.
I used to use them together as I was always sad about the lack of low end in the rat. I remember my parents got me the rat and it was a choice between the rat and the big muff (not sure which version it would have been but probably a v8 which I got later and never gelled with) I only used the rat2 between 1999 and 2007 before switching to the four screw v8 muff. Been using a turbo rat for past seven years for main med range distortion.
The EQ-7 being ACA never worked 100% but I recently (early this year) had it fixed and modded to accept standard 9v, I'd killed it a few years ago from spraying electrical contact spray in it in an attempt to make it usable again. But.. first pedal is back!

Re: What pedal have you had the longest?
My first pedal was a crummy George Dennis GD35 wah pedal I got for christmas when I was 13. It was my only effects pedal for few years, then it somehow disappeared. Fast forward some 15 years later, one of my friends is calling me he found this weird red pedal in his rehearsal space trash can and wants to offer it to me for a beer, knowing that I like this kind of junk. I was kinda amazed when I realized that it was my old wah! all the scratches, missing front rubber feet...it's that exact pedal. To my biggest surprise, it's working and it doesn't sound as bad as I remember it
other than that, pedal I've been using for the longest time is my trusty MXR Micro Amp. I've had the pot and switch changed numerous times, because I use it a lot - sometimes just for couple of notes in a riff, it's my all time favourite boost and I'm pretty sure it will never leave my board.
