RIP Adam Schlesinger

This one was a real kick in the gut last night.

I was never deeply imbedded in his work, but Adam Schlesinger has always meant a lot to me as a songwriter. The guy managed to balance that tough act of writing songs that had personality and an individual touch while still writing things that could be universal and performed by others without losing their basic truth. Not only that, he made a career of being a hardworking team player who was always up for a challenge.

He will be missed.
And you find out life isn't like that
It's so hard to understand
Why the world is your oyster but your future's a clam

Yes, very sad. I had a Fountains of Wayne CD back in the day, the guy had a hell of a career.

Him being only slightly older than me and dying of coronavirus makes it kind of real for me also.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

John Prine also is sick with it.

He's had a rough go of it in life health wise...It will be tough for him.

I'm hoping the best for him.
If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...
