I haven't heard any of these people mentioned except for Phillip Glass, but I like Branca by default, because a friend of mine told me one of my ambient guitar pieces reminded him of Branca. he must be fucking cool!

we went to the movie with live music from the f glass ensemble

I've got a Russian re-issue of No New York that I picked up on Amazon this year, maybe you could nab that? Great packaging, with extensive liner notes......in Russian. But, it's a decent master/transfer.

Yes, I just found one from a private seller on Amazon here in Germany!
It's not too expensive, also! Now I know what will be my Christmas treat!

Nice to see LaMonte Young and Morton Feldman mentioned, though.

There's a collaboration featuring Young, Riley and Pandit Pran Nath that was released relatively recently on Young's label. Very interesting.

The Reich box seems sorta silly to me. It's only stuff he's recorded for Nonesuch, if I'm not mistaken. A shame, as I much prefer the original recording of "Music for 18 Musicians" that was released on ECM.

That, and I'm not sure the box has my favorite Reich piece, "Four Organs." Gimmicky, for sure; but I still like it.

I do enjoy a fair amount of modern minimalist electronic music, as well. Richard Chartier, Helge Sten's work as Deathprod, Oren Ambarchi, Andrew Chalk, William Basinski... Granted, the last two could almost be classified as ambient, but still...

All great stuff.

He was the one who Reich and Glass copied, or let's say were heavily influenced by. Unique in his day. Not enough budget and marketing IMO.
The first I know of to do that 'Circular' music.

I used to love watching Reich's "Violin Phase" vinyl LP spin on the turntable: the slow, gradual changes in the music formed a bizzare spiraling pattern.
