Current state of the board for my new band. I may be switching to my Bassman setup soon. If so the DIY footswitch will get swapped with a Malekko trem.

Yeah, I have one of those Alessi (I think it is) PA-80s or whatever it is. It’s loud enough, and kind of small and easy to move around.

Yes, we should, that would be cool.

I also have an old (80’s) Peavey PA (500XR or something like that) with the 2 tower speakers, but it doesn’t work well. It clips out badly and probably needs a good bit of gut work. I’m not very good at that, and I’m not going to work on it or get it fixed - you could have it if you want it.
Cool, I asked about the PA because I'm not that into hauling gear and a PA would allow me to avoid it altogether. Ive mostly been playing synth through a mixer into monitors, and that stuff is probably not going to move except in the unlikely event I was performing. I can't fix stuff and I'm probably too lazy to get something fixed. I'd probably drop it off and forget about it like I do occasionally with dry cleaning

Double HOF for stereo? (dual mono).
Do you have trouble syncing them or is the difference what makes it good?

Just different settings to toggle from...I tried stacking them at some point...it was ok...nothing mind-blowing :)

Can't wait to post my new pedalboard. It's not yet finished but I could finally make use of my old EHX Micro Synthesizer again and the whole thing is fucking sick.

I was watching a video where a guy (Nick Reinhart? Maybe someone else?) was playing a Boss DD-5 and was using the hold function really short, and it sounded awesome. I started looking into a few of the Boss digital delays, and think that I might like either a DD-5, DD-6, or DD-7. I started looking into the differences between each as they all have some similarities, but I was wondering if any of you guys have any opinions of one vs the other on any of those specific 3 models?

A friend lent me a DD7, insisting I try it - reluctantly, i did. I liked it a lot more than I was thinking I might. I picked one up and eventually moved it along in favour of my analog delays. Once I got playing with the band I'm currently in and our sound changed (lots of amp reverb), I knew I needed a tighter, cleaner delay so I picked up another DD7. This time, I used it in conjunction with an external tap I built and it's not been off my board since. I'm crazy for the dotted-8ths this thing does. The looper is also handy to have - I use that quite a lot more than expected. Have an RC-1, but keep the DD7 on my board and use that, instead. I recently also picked up a new DD8 and use the two in conjunction. OH. MY.

The DD8 has a ton of "modes" (shimmer, hold, glitch, etc) and they all sound pretty great, but I find it falls a bit short of the DD7 in the straight-up, classic delay category - which is why the pair of them is pretty special. I think it's pretty close to having the best of every boss delay.
Here's the link that sold me on trying the DD8:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvvBQUV3e5g

Wow, that thing has some really good sounds! I'd actually worry that I wouldn't use a ton of them. On guitar, I prefer delays with an analog voicing, but I tried all of those pedals on bass, and it didn't do much for me. My bass board has changed a little since then, but I thought that a digital-voiced delay might be the trick for bass. I'm gonna have to find a used one locally to see if I can try it in person.

Current configuration. Finally satisfied – hope it lasts a while. The ABY is for routing the signal from the octaver to the organ simulator and through the rotary (which has great cabinet simulations) to the PA. Power supply is the great Voodoo Labs Mondo, which is both the most versatile and the quitetest I've had.

Ok, that was quick. I just watched that episode of the JHS show about flangers and now I'm completely obsessed with that Pearl FG-01. Found one locally and hope to put it in place of the BF-2 soon. What a pedal! :?
