Obviously, it's too late for this project, but if you have any future plans for any more Firebird type builds, you might want to check out the Dimarzio PG-13s. Ceramic magnets in a mini humbucker.

I do love dimarzio pickups. I have to use a bigsby instead of the vibrola. The break angle was no good.

Dang, the vibrola was looking great!

Is there no way to shim the neck or rout a ramp to the neck pocket to solve the break angle issue?

Pickups and bridge would end up being jacked up too high.

I was going to ask you about that from looking at the picture - shame about the break angle, it looked real neat with this big chunk of metal, but it feels like the coolest bit on those Vibrolas is the absurdly large plastic tip. It just goes really well with the Firebird's overall shape. Maybe you can pick up one of those round Goldo arms for the Bigsby and make a Vibrola-ish replacement tip for it?

All set to head my way for painting. I am super happy with how it is looking!! I love the reshaped headstock. :D Even though the bigsby wasn't my first pick, I think it will function better and still looks pretty cool!

Sprayed the headstock. It will be black and the body will be white. :D

Headstock is coming along. I need to let it cure so I can start with the clear coats.
