Are they really that hard to find? I just looked on Reverb and there are a bunch of new ones for sale. Hell, I may even put my barely used one on the block soon. It's a totally cool guitar and my first XII of any kind, and right now I'm wondering how I'm going to fit it into the stuff I'm working on. This guitar cost a little too much to just sit around most of the time, if that makes sense.

Here... Yes. You might find a 3TS in stock in a shop, but neither of the other colours.

Fair enough, I should have noted U.S availability.

There's a white one in Canberra, if you're ever there or want to try online (DW Music). I haven't been looking for one myself to know who else does, I just remembered seeing it when searching sites for other stuff

I'm unfortunately a bit far away to pop in and try it.... ;)
I am still waiting for the one I ordered at my local Guitar shop :(

My XII *finally* arrived. Neck feels nice, pickups sound better than I was expecting. Overall I'm pretty happy.

Update on mine - rotary switch installed. I’ve also darkened the pau ferro a bit using furniture scratch repair then fingerboard oil. Happy with the results....

Image

The switch was a bit of a saga due to various incompetence. I’d bought a pre-wired rotary off ebay which gave both in series as the extra option, except it was wired backwards (switch up = bridge pickup), and was caked in some rubbery insulating paste, so I couldn’t rewire it. I bought it months ago as I wasn’t expecting an 11 month wait for the guitar, so too late to return it. Also, the series sound didn’t seem really very useful.

So I bought a new switch and wired it up according to ThePearDream’s diagram here http://offsetguitars.com/forums/viewto ... 0#p1576845. Sounds great but with my impressive incompetence I managed to cut the switch shaft too short!, :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: Thanks though, ThePearDream, if you read this!!

One more new switch later and all is good. The out of phase sounds are jangly and crisp, and I’ll find more use for them on a XII.
All the cheeses....

I ended up buying a made in Korea Danelectro DC 12 for 1/3 the price of the XII... no funny noises and it plays great.

I was interested in this when they came out but didn't buy one thinking they'd be around for a while.
Last week I started looking around and the blue ones were scarce and it looks like they aren't making anymore.
SOOO
I went to the local guitar center that had one and checked it out thinking I'd find some sort of damage that would make me
not buy it.
It was perfect and played nice so I asked what kinda deal can y'all give me on this (they also had a white one).
Guy gave it to me for $800, wife was mildly annoyed.
I like it a lot and have the parts on order to put in the rotary switch using the knob from Mouser I found listed here.
I've stuck with Squiers the past few years but this one had me notice the new Lead series and now I am
hankering for a purple Lead III......

I just took delivery on my XII (white one) and it's a gorgeous instrument. I find puzzling the reports of noisiness that I'm reading in this thread. My XII is dead silent on all three positions. My house actually has a lot of RF interference -- the bridge and neck positions on my Squier CVJM are almost useless as a result -- but the XII is quieter than my semi-hollow which is equipped with humbuckers.

I think the pickups sound great. The bridge is voiced very like a Rick bridge.

The XII really shows up the Squier JM, by the way, which feels like junk by comparison, I'm sorry to say.
