my band The Laughing Group's new EP
We're putting Unseen Hands out into the world today.
It's good ol' fashioned mopey indie guitar pop. If you like Nada Surf, Big Star, Versus, Unrest, early REM, etc... you might dig it.
To keep things on topic the main electric on all tracks is a Rhoney Oceana Jr. with some help from an Electric XII and my weird woodburned Tele with Fralin Big Singles for gainier overdubs. A few acoustics made appearances too.
Basic tracks were cut in one day (no click track) and aside from a few punches we kept them. There were a few overdub sessions after that to add a little ear candy. Our sound is a little rough around the edges, so the quick n' dirty recording style works for us.
Hope you like it.

Re: my band The Laughing Group's new EP
I saw this and was like
THEY PUT OUT ANOTHER EP??!
Sorry. I have actually listened to this a few times since you posted. I also thought I'd posted already - but apparently, not.
This is really good and should not drift off with zero recognition and input (I've always disliked that this forum has become like that).
You guys have been making some great music. New Uniform has come in my shuffle on a few occasions and it took a while to make the association.
Thank you for posting this! I'm sorry I missed commenting the first time.

Thanks! Yeah, there are some really talented folks here. I like to talk about gear as much as the next person, but we're all musicians here in our way.parry wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 5:31 pmI saw this and was like

This one was a big step forward for us I think. Jeffrey and Sam played much more of role in working out the arrangements and I think the songs are better for it. It isn't the slickest recording, but we're not that band.

There's marked growth between the two releases, for sure. It feels good - a natural progression.

I especially liked 2 and 5. The feel/beat was excellent and I also liked the vocal harmony parts which never sounded fussy.
