Fender is looking into doing it. Everyone admits the original Jag-Stang released to the public was an absolute mess. But right now, the "proper" version of the Jag-Stang is just in the concept phase.
This sounds like you have some kind of information, any source?
I realize there’s no reason for you to believe me, but I’m afraid I cannot say anything else beyond what I’ve said — that some folks at Fender are looking into going back and getting it right, especially given the success of the KC Jaguar.
Equally, there have been all kinds of people with inside knowledge on here - this thread being an excellent example - so I have no reason to distrust you!

Jag-stang II sounds like an awesome idea. I just wondered if there was anywhere I could read about it, but no worries if not. Fender / Squier, I'd buy one either way. Any idea on approx timescale to expect to see them?

I think the Supersonics would look so much better with a Jazzmaster tremolo. I wonder if anyone has ever built one?

Are you implying that Courtney Love KILLED the redesigned Jag-Stang?

I dunno. Sounds off-brand for her.

I really appreciate that. I hope the project goes forward — I’d be the first in line.

Do you know if this is linked to the Jag-stang that was on display in the Fender Hollywood opening? (3-4 years ago now).

That showed several then-unreleased guitars, including a Powercaster prototype, that have all since come out.

when I got my squire cyclone back in the day, the pickups had to go almost right away. the neck pickup was way too bright and thin. the ii is a little expensive for modder fodder, but a good set of strat pups could go a long way if the problem still exists. if they didn't mess with the neck profile from the last go around, it'll be worth it.

I need a solid Gibson scale, humbucker equipped guitar that I can string up in guitar craft tuning and it can handle the road. the toronado instantly went on my want list...until I saw the new Epi SG Custom. An affordable Epi with an ebony fingerboard is too tempting to turn down. either way, the "budget" lines are really showing out this year with some quality designs.

My assumption is no, but with the caveat that I’m not sure.

I made a full scale one years ago with a Jag tremolo. It does look better.
I can't find any pics of it right now but I'll dig them up.

If there was, people would be replacing the zips and buttons with higher quality American ones from the Fender jackets

And refinishing them by sewing Fender patches over the Squier ones. Then arguing about whether that's ethical, which most people will be ok with as long as you don't sell it to someone else as a Fender jacket.

:D :D :D
Of course the original Japan made squier jackets from the early 80s were much better as they actually used fender zips and buttons. They even have the fender logo on the zip. Pretty rare nowadays and quite expensive if you can find one in a second hand clothes store. The late 80s Korean made jackets are also good quality. A mate of mine has one and swears it's better than his US Fender jacket! 8)

I still think that if they want to bring Squier jackets into the market, they should be sewn in Indonesia, not China.
