Parabola (Silverburst Strat Build) Finished Pg. 2!

Post by HNB » Thu Jan 02, 2020 7:29 pm

I got a Peavey neck for my Jazzy project but decided to us a WD neck instead. Since I had this neck around I looked for another MJT body to put it on and saw a silverburst pop up. It is on the way. In the meantime I am taking the neck finish off because it had dings and scratches. I will do my typical dye and stain job to get a more discolored/worn look that I like to do and then I will wipe on clear to it. Here is the neck sanded up.

I am a Tool/Adam Jones fan so I came up with a decal to go with that. I am going to put Tex Mex pickups in the neck and middle and bridge will be a Hotrail pickup. Black knobs, guard, and pickup covers. :)

I really like that silverburst. it manages to be dramatic and subtle at the same time.

The body came and the neck almost fits perfectly. I just need to sand a little to get it in there. I love the colors coming together. I did go ahead and oil the fretboard.

That looks so mean and raging... like it's going to unleash The Grudge.
As both silverburst and Tool fan: I love it.

I am also both a silver burst and Tool fan. This is looking great so far. I didn't even realize MJT did silverbursts. This is dangerous knowledge.

Internal wiring is all done. I just need a tremolo/claw and the jack cup to get the body finished. Neck is done aside from tuners. Coming together.
