Somersault looks pretty interesting. Please buy one, so I don't have to.

Re: NPD: Caroline Guitar Company Météore Reverb And Parabola Trem
Y'all are not helping! The chaos level on my board is bad enough as it is. I'd been thinking I'd test out the new Twin Peaks against my Monument and be done with it, but now there's not only the Parabola but also fun modulation and a potential upgrade to the Kilobyte(!!!!). I'm in trouble.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 7:41 pmI want to try it out on the bass too, because having that extra overdrive with the pre-amp knob might be useful. I technically bought it for the bass, but I don't think I'll be able to let it off the guitar board. I'm quickly becoming a bit of a Caroline fanboy. Did you hear about their two new releases at summer NAMM? Update to the Kilobyte (called the Megabyte; which has tap tempo and I believe still has the Havoc switch for feedback) and a lo-fi modulation called the Somersault

I likely won't be able to help Maggie. I was never much of a chorus guy, as good as it sounds.
Monument always looked cool to me! Personally, I think the Kilobyte is perfect. Tap tempo is handy, but I don't see anything from the Megabyte that really gets me to want to replace my Kilobyte.Gavanti wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 10:56 amY'all are not helping! Re: NPD: Caroline Guitar Company Météore Reverb And Parabola Trem
Ok, y'all are right. The Parabola is great! The humped wave form, even in FM mode, means it's definitely more for people who like their tremolo to be very present. The Invader drive is way easier to dial in independently than it is on the Kilobyte and Meteore and sounds good pushed by other gain pedals as well. As with most Caroline pedals, I'm loving the interactivity of the controls, which makes for a lot of rewarding experimentation.
Two quirks I have noticed: I don't get much variation on the first quarter of the depth or speed knobs. Also, the Havoc switch operates less smoothly than it does on the Kilobyte and Meteore. It's not a problem, but I have to remember to press harder to get it to engage.
I'm not certain if my Monument is out the door yet. The Parabola doesn't do the slow sine wave thing that I like for softening up tone, and it doesn't have the harmonic trem. However, I'm finding the Parabola more interesting and more organic to my playing, and I want to use it more. This is why the Kilobyte has survived several more full-featured delays.
Now I really want a Somersault.

The Somersault really does look like something special, but I've already got two Uni-Vibe type pedals already.

I hear you. If it makes it any easier, I’ve got a Unicorn and a Night Wire on the way (and a DejaVibe already), and I still want the Somersault. I figure if I can get them all pulsing in synch, I should be able to start trolling the nearest USGS observatory.

It's dangerous. I'd thought that my EQD Hummingbird was my favorite tremolo and I'd never want to replace it, until I tried the Parabola. GAS is real, my friend.

Re: NPD: Caroline Guitar Company Météore Reverb And Parabola Trem
I totally believe you! I haven't changed the tremolo pedal on my board for four years or so. It's David Rolo's Twin peaks (made in Belgium so I actually met the builder when I bought it). Probably one of the most versatile unit out there. Yet there are four things that make me think that the Parabola could compliment the Twin Peaks : the FM switch (that sounds very different to the TP harmonic setting), the preamp, the havoc and the fact that it seems to handle dirt better.
I just scored the only used Parabola in the EU on reverb. Half the price of a new one
Now I'll have to wait a bit for it, the seller being on hollidays until the 6th.

Re: NPD: Caroline Guitar Company Météore Reverb And Parabola Trem
Frankly, yes, you've been my Messiah! (and Shadoweclipse also)I feel like the Jesus of Trem.
I got the Parabola today. I'm always a bit nervous when I try a new tremolo pedal. A good amp tremolo is my favourite effect, but each time I have had hopes to get something similar from a pedal, it's been instant disappointment. I've never had a honeymoon phase with a tremolo pedal, and I've sold each one I bought in the past relatively fast. The Tin Peaks has been an exception, probably 4 or 5 years on my pedalboard now, but more because it is a very versatile unit, than because I've found exactly the sound I had in mind. I'll keep it because it doesn't sound bad, and it can do almost anything. But the Parabola will be the one on my board from now on.
I never use the words "Holy Grail", as they sound always like an overstatement to me, but that's how I feel about the Parabola. It does exactly what I had stopped to look for in a trem pedal, it sounds like a nice tremolo amp!
The preamp is especially wonderful, and probably the main reason why it sounds so good. But what also makes the experience so pleasant is the perfect taper of the pots. I can really adjust everything the way I like, the controls act really smoothly.
I was sure I would prefer the FM mode. But I've found I like both equally.
I wasn't even looking for a new trem before I read this thread, so, really, thank you!
