Poly Boog...I'm guessing it'll be in the near 2 Grand range...
Reverb has a
write up on it right now that speculates it will be under $1k, and
Sonic State already put up a review. I love Nick Batt’s reviews.
Yeah, I just pulled that figure out of my ass, mostly thinking it'd be more of a Memory Moog/Poly Moog kind of thing, but it's really more toned down than that so I'm glad it's in the sub $1000 range (who knows about Canada, though). It's weird... A lot of reveiwers seem bummed out by the lack of features or wishing it had delay or reverb added on. I find that a little bit much, but I get it. To my ears, it sounds amazing and is such a cheap alternative for the Moog sound and with a Paraphony, why bother complaining? Also, don't most people like using their own choice of external reverb and delay? *shrug* I'm perfectly fine with the distortion and Juno Chorus additions.
Point is, this thing sounds beautiful to me. That Sonic State demo is all I needed to hear. I want one, probably more than anything else they have come out with!

Agreed. And given that it's paraphonic, using the (proven, beloved) Juno chorus on it to thicken things up is a really smart move.
I read a little earlier that among the trademarks that Behringer just filed for, "Trident" is among them, which is pretty cool. Those old Korg Tridents are pretty incredible sounding and deserve another run at the market with MIDI from the factory rather than bodged on later. They're one of those synths I've always loved, though I can't see myself getting one if I have a paraphonic boog and a fauxberheim. The Roland JV I have does so much so well that going apeshit buying cool synths is kind of a waste of space and money. Which was a big part of why I bought the thing in the first place. A "grownup" decision, there.
This is an excellent rectangle

The Poly D can be pre-ordered at €709 in Europe, via Thomann.

That Poly D is amazing. I'd rock the hell out of that.

Yeah, I've been giggling about that too.

Bought the Roland Juno-06 boutique synth-- they release an upgraded version with more features.
Bought the Behringer Model D -- they release a super-duper cool version.

I feel the same. I don't regret the Matriarch, but for ~$700 USD compared to the $2K Matriarch, when the original inspiration was a Model D... That's tempting indeed. Nick's Sonic State review was great. He mentioned he's rather have a delay than the chorus, but I like the idea of having delay in pedal or Eurorack format. The Poly D going into a
Strymon Magneto would be absolutely tits

I'm cool with the Chorus, but since Behringer is throwing every cool thing they can think of into a synth, I'm sure they will release a newer Poly D with six-note polyphony and two delays six months after I splash the cash for the Poly D.
Speaking of delays, I have a Moogerfooger 104M delay... and three other delay pedals, so I'm not hurting for delays.
I don't have the extra $$$ to really dive into Eurorack stuff as I'm just a basic bitch with Synths.

Oh, man. I'm starting to really feel the Eurorack modular itch. I hope it goes away because I know how much of a money pit it is, not to mention the actual time spent assembling and learning how to use it in any useful way. I keep trying to remind myself of these things as I peruse the YooToobz for modular synth demos.
I don't know much about it, but I keep coming back to the
Roland System 500. At least it could be a good jumping off point.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

I see all those patch cables and my eyes glaze over. I mean, I
want to like these sorts of things, but I know I'd just be lost and never be able to make the time these synths need to really perform. It's not the synths, it's me.

I was looking at the Roland/Malekko System 500 stuff early on too. Todd, don't you have a Moog Grandmother? Playing with the patch points might be a good start too. I'd originally thought about jumping into Eurorack first, but I like the idea of a piano/keyboard controller, and thought that a hardware synth was a better starting point. You've had synths for a while though, and know how to play them, so you'd be better with Eurorack/modular synths than I would I bet. My thinking now is that I'll use Eurorack as the effects for my Matriarch as it has Eurorack patch points, and then go from there if I'm digging it. I figure that the learning curve for a Eurorack delay would be a lot less steep than a complete synth, you know?

I do think the learning curve with Eurorack/modular synths is a bit steep, but that's also how I feel coming from a place where hardware synths have a bit of a learning curve too. Haha.

I start putting patch cables here and there on my Grandmother and most of the time nothing really happens. This tells me that I've got a lot of learning to do before I even think of going Eurorack.

Oh! Oh!
Moog published a book of patches!
