Avery Plains, the band I've been playing bass in for the last 4 years is currently an all offset band. The lead-guitarist now plays a white Johnny Marr Jaguar. The rythm-guitarist/singer plays an anniversary Jaguar and also has a battered Mustang which used to be a 1973 blue comp Mustang, which he bought for 1 guilder (around 50eurocents/half a dollar) from his neighbour. I play a daphne blue refinished Modern Player Jaguar bass and also a white Epihone Vintage Pro Thunderbird, which I'm currently refinishing in pelham blue nitro.

We dropped the second Lacing album on Halloween. Link below to bandcamp page for digital and it has links to purchase the vinyl and CD if anyone wants one of those.

Received Wisdom

A new song from our band Sredni Vashtar. The usual offset action, with a bit of synth guitar pedal thrown in for good measure.
Thanks for listening.

https://soundcloud.com/billy-gashade/sets/bass-vi

3 tunes of varying style, as well as qualities of performance and recording. 97% Squier VM Bass VI with LaBella flatwounds, 3% RWJM MIM. All on GarageBand.

The first is an embellishment and completion of my first composition, a flamenco-like thing I left unfinished for 20+ years until now.

I need some noise reduction, maybe some power conditioning...

Here's our new EP. Loads of Bass VI here too. We're still not as tight as I wish we were, but I think it's a step up from the first EP. Hope you like it.

and just like that, i have a new album!

recorded in under a week on mainly an elektron digitakt on a forced staycation during a worldwide pandemic.

musically quite inspired by thom yorke and autechre.

a big departure from previous material. i tried to not give myself too many restrictions, and i wanted to avoid overthinking things.

elektron digitakt, nord lead 2, nord modular g1, fender telecaster.

also have an fb page dedicated to the project :) https://www.facebook.com/musiqueconcreteband
