For the last month or so, I had been primarily playing my guitars through either my Brown Princeton or my Showman head through a 1x15 speaker with an early JBL D130F in it, whilst using my lady friend's mid 60s Fender Reverb Tank.

But last night I plugged into my Vibrolux Reverb for the first time in months, and damn if that doesn't sound better than the other two. So sweet and musical. Haven't used my Princeton Reverb in a long time. I should probably give that one a whirl, too!
That whole set up is amazing. The amps, the Hi-Flyer, the Dan-o Bari. but what really caught my eye is that one-pickup Strat! I’m not a stray player, but i’ve Always said that i’d Love to have one with just a neck pickup. Can you provide some info on it? Looks like a firebird pickup? And no controls? Wicked.

Thanks, Glumlord, I appreciate the kind words.

The one-pickup Strat truly is wonderful. Easily one of my favourite guitars. I made a "Coodercaster" thread on it, but the gist of it is that it has a mid-50s H-44 Stratotone pickup in the neck. It sounds absolutely wonderful in there and I thought I'd need more tonal variety from the guitar so I switched out the guard and added a spare Dearmond Silverfoil in the bridge, but I almost never use that position. So, I might switch it out for something else or put the original pickguard back on it. It's wired directly to the out put as the pickup is beautifully dark/smokey/jazzy/round as is and sounds it's best this way.

I like Strats but this is more my thing.

Talking about hoovering... My 2015 Roadworn Jazzmaster with AV Tremolo, gold pickguard and Nilfisk GA71 amp.
Here are the effects which are pretty sparse for the current project; Fulltone '69->Wampler Plexidrive(DIY)->EHX Black Finger.

edit; replaced the picture with one that actually shows the effects.

baritone conversion neck (rock maple and baseball bat sized) the body is ash because if i dont have a back ach after a gig, im not happy. bridge pickup is a mexican jazzmaster pickup. the neck is a generic humbucker. oh and a sticker of yuno gasai.

that thing is too cool... the cost/availability of full maple necks has had me thinking on a maple board jazzy, that thing really isn’t helping

where did you source the conversion neck? i will say, the thing sounds absolutely back breaking...

First version of a possible setup for my new band. Should be usable for guitar, bass vi and bass. Maybe I'll add a looper and if we really go crazy either a Space Station, FM4 or Ring Thing.

Fun fact: the cheap Nux delay won over an Empress Tape Echo and a Boss DD-20 for its sweet modulation setting and its much greater abbility to eat heavy fuzz. Who would've guessed?

Really? I've been interested in checking those out since they are so inexpensive.

I just recently got the Empress and had used it on synths mainly. It's a super awesome fantastic pedal, really, but when I put my Big Muff in front of it and released my inner Gilmour, the repeats would just disappear, sounded thin and completely washed out. It seems to hate fuzz pedals.

So I took the DD-20 but this again was to clean and in your face, even in the tape or analog settings, for what I was up to. I've had the Nux for years and had mainly just had it spare for just in case. Never had it in a setup so I thought I'd give it a chance. And really, it was just halfway between the other two. Not too precise, but clear enough to take the Muff well.

I then switched to the mod setting and was literally blown away as I don't remember I've ever tried it. It has a pretty wide but slow sweeping pitch modulation that's just glorious. I even enhanced that modulation by going through the pedal twice: guitar to input, output to stereo in, stereo out to amp. This also gives a sweet saturation to the repeats and works great in all the modes.

This is a sweet little pedal with cool sounds and a decent build quality. I wish it had an input for tap tempo, though.

That's really interesting. I've been looking for a general purpose delay for my bass rig. Maybe I'll give the Nux a go. Thanks for the info man!!
