Reverb Recording Experiment: Motown!

Post by Shadoweclipse13 » Thu Oct 03, 2019 9:25 pm

I was in the bathroom getting ready to shower the second Reverb posted this video this morning: Can We Recreate The Motown Sound?. I watched the whole thing and was impressed. I think they got the sound damn close at the very least. I imagine that it would be impossible to get an exact tone like they did at the Motown studios 40-50 years later, but this was really cool to see. The band and singers were all just killing it!

Here's the article itself on Reverb.com.

Motown is one of my favorite studios sound-wise, and I love reading and seeing stuff like this.

this was such a great watch, the drums and strings especially were just delightfully captured.. the amount of work that must have gone into this is stunning. thanks for sharing!

Yep, that was pretty cool.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Got an email about that, but didn’t watch it until I saw your post.

That was very cool. Many pains taken for the effort, and while I didn’t listen on headphones, that sounded good.

Those singers...everyone else, too, but those singers were badass.
