I'm going to use a bunch of non-audio specific terms here... the steel had a ghostly and otherworldly quality to it, cold and metallic sounding, brittle, bright and beautiful. Like a winter morning with fresh snow and sunshine.

I would say that the brass is in fact warmer.

It's not a huge difference either way, but I noticed it.
Not sure I'd get as colorful as Larry with my descriptions :), but I do like the percussive attack and presence on steel/titanium bridges. Brass feels a bit duller and one-dimensional to me, but that's probably a great match for a guitar which has icepick tendencies (e.g. a vintage tele). I personally love these Gotoh titanium compensated saddles:

I've had both brass and stainless saddles but never changed one type to the other for a good comparison.

Those Gotoh compensated saddles look like good ones.

Yeah, I really went for it, didn't I? I should write reviews for Guitar Player magazine or something.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

You would probably be very good at writing wine descriptions! :)
