Linea Aspera - Antipodean Tedium critical levels of disdain. :)
That's great, I'd love to know the story behind this one.
Yeah me too, though the lyrics could play out anywhere despite her being an Aussie expat. She's an interesting character, IIRC she's a forensic archeologist. Could be worse, one old boyfriend was compared to a blood borne parasite. (TUNE as the kid say!)

I really like what she's doing now as Zanias, kinda Dead Can Darkwave.

I'm making up a playlist as a favour for someone and I was at a sort of fork in the path and couldn't work out whether the mix was going left or right until this popped in my head.

Miranda Sex Garden - A Fairytale About Slavery

Thanks y'all for that thread - summer's that time of year when one has to kick oneself in the butt and listen to new stuff. Some great suggestions here. I'd managed never to listen to the Groundhogs, even though I was well into the British blues-rock-psych thing when I was a teenager. There's something of a guilty pleasure in listening to the sounds of an SG through huge amps.

Went to see Kirin J. Callinan for the second time in Manchester last week. Gawd was that gig disturbing. Where does irony become too much irony? His recent albums verge on the unbearable, yet he's such a beast of a performer it's hard not to like him.

Another cooler-than-the-pool Aussie. I saw her opening for Tropical Fuck Storm and it was a very intense, emotionally charged set.

Now, every summer deserves a summer song - here's mine:

Sunray/Sonic Boom - Music For The Dreammachine Phase One

Probably one for the headphones...

With Phase Two due out in a couple of weeks (a mere 20 years later) it seemed the right time to give this another spin. Deep space satellite pulse communication...going knowhere vast!

The Golden Filter - Coercion new record just hit turntable, I'm only two tracks in but I had to lift the needle and play this again. Love it's creepy sensuality bridging the world of Penelope Trappes somnolent solo work and the Golden Filter 'wave, with a toe in both the Cocteau Twins and Chris and Cosey pools.
