I wonder if anyone ever built something like this:
A Sunburst Jazz Bass without the chrome control plate and just a Precision Bass pickup? I know: it's almost the same like a Mark Hoppus Bass but in Sunburst and a tone knob.
I love the Jazz Bass shape but I'm really not into it's usual pickups.... I also prefer a "big pickguard" instead of the separate control plate.
Curious if someone shows up who's got a bass like that

Mark Hoppus did/does have a sunburst:
King Buzzo: I love when people come up to me and say “Your guitar sound was better on Stoner Witch, when you used a Les Paul. “...I used a Fender Mustang reissue on that, dumbass!

Re: Sunburst Jazz Bass with Precision Bass Pickup?
BTW:
Mark Hoppus' Signature Bass is equiped with a P-Bass neck and a string-through-body bridge. So all in all it's far away from what I'm looking for :/
