Try it stock before you get a lot of parts you might not need down the line.
Pickup swaps, trem swaps etc. are cool; but maybe the guitar will work for you stock. You can always change things to your taste down the line.

Thank you !
What do you think about this hardtail conversion plate?
I can assemble it in minutes. And If I miss the vibrato I can easily change it.

A high output pickup (like seymour duncan pegasus) and standart JM vibrato can't be useful ?
In your position, I'd probably go this route, plus a pair of hot humbuckers.

If you play heavy right-hand rhythm, you might want extra downforce and stability so you don't knock the strings out of the saddles. Which, in stock configuration (particularly with lighter strings) jazzmasters CAN be prone to in extreme circumstances.

Not trying to be contrarian, but I find at a certain point a smaller gauge string stays wedged better in the slots, even if tension is technically less. Basically - play with it, experiment, it’s not quite like other guitars.
