Don't feel bad . . . I once finished a job, started to test . . . nothing, zip, nada . . . was stumped and started to short out switches trying to isolate the problem . . . got the leads off one switch and then noticed . . . as I did NOT have the pick guard screwed to the guitar AND the connection to ground ran through the pick guard shielding to the cavity shielding were it was picked up by the socket . . . guess what . . . NO connection to ground - and thus no complete circuit - without the screws to complete the circuit from the guard to the body . . . boy did I feel stupid, soldered the leads back, put the guard back & put the one ESSENTIAL screw in and . . . everything worked . . .

When thinking about any advice given always ask yourself "why would (s)he know more than I do".

Re: P90 Blacktop Jazzmaster
I will tell you one worse. I was going back and forth testing a guitar to make sure the pickups made sounds confirming the wiring was good. Put it together with strings and had no sound. I went back and forth before I realized, I hadn't pluged the cable back in the guitar input jack....

So, how did this sound in the end? I've put Telecaster bridges and bridge pickups in Squire Jazzmasters (keeping the neck JM pickup) but was thinking of next doing what you've done ... so ....sirspens wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2018 2:25 pm

Re: P90 Blacktop Jazzmaster
I sold this guitar quite a while ago. It sounded really good. I don't remember the middle setting being particularly memorable, though.FlametopFred wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2019 2:12 pmSo, how did this sound in the end?
