I've got mint on Sonic blue. It was white on blue before, but I think parchment might be even better than either.
Agreed.

Parchment>Mint in the case of Fender's (often awful fake 'aged' look) plastics.

Where's the black (with white covers and knobs) option? Because its the best option. With light gold in second place.

I knew that there are supporters to be found for every option on OSG, still I love how diverse the opinions are. Most people I asked IRL were either White, Mint or Tort - no one liked the more "exotic" options like gold or pearloid... or black ;)

And yes - I skipped tort + cream instead of white because I thought it was redundant but I knew someone would call me out on that :D
If I find the time and the light is still good in the living room I will take some pictures just for the sake of it

Is the Vibrato a Squier one? Or the standard after market part that can be found everywhere... I wonder if there are differences in them... I got an unbranded one like this on my Eastwood Sidejack Deluxe and it's quite alright... but I still couldn't compare it to a Mastery or AVRI - but my Japanese isn't that much greater...
Yeah it's a Squier VM trem that I bought it from someone here
I also have the aftermarket one on another guitar... the Mastery trem is the smoothest of them all by far - AVRI close second. the various MiM, MIJ, Squier and aftermarket clones ones are all ok - some have a soft spring and work great when finetuned correctly and others can be a bit stiff sometimes or squeak or clank a bit no matter how you adjust it (from my experience at least) but none of them is so bad that it really needs to be replaced. I stopped caring at some point because I have too many guitars and play them rarely... but if I only had one I'd go for one of the expensive options.

I have a navy blue pick guard that I have been doing to see on a sonic blue body but I voted for mint/cream covers.
Navy blue?? Where did you get that from? o_O

Or even white sparkle.
I think I have the "Eggshell white" PG from Fender laying around that came out with the AV 65 series... the colour is somewhere between white and mint - I can give that a try and post a picture later on ^^

I actually have only one black pickguard and it ended up on my charcoal frost JM :

had the same dilemma with pickguard colour back then http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/vie ... 8&t=106564 and the black pickguard stays on that guitar now :D

Another thing I wanted to add : I originally was going for a greenish colour/teint like on that photoshop :

Image

but as it turns out the Fender Mint on that guitar looks more beige/parchment than green :

Image

Does anyone know if there is a green mint pickguard or pickguard material that is more green?
Or is it the lightning in that photo or the contrast to that blue that makes this look almost beige?

This is the same pickguard on my surf green guitar btw :

Image

and I am looking for something like this :

Image

that would then look like this :

It's one of those chasing some idea in my head moments again... I know - it probably is just the light or some filter on some photo on the internet

I will take a picture outside in direct sunlight and see how that looks...

I got it in trade on the forum here a while back but I believe it came from WD music but I am not positive.

I'd say black, too. Because just look at it:

I like the contrast of a darker guard.

I voted mint + cream, but the tort would look good with cream parts as well rather than the white as pictured.
This.

Also, I've been so curious about this project since Dan's last update. Very excited to hear more.

Another option is to get SneakyT to make you a parchment guard. He did one for my Jag and it's lovely.

Assembled the guitar and finished the wiring yesterday - here are the final pics :

I went with the Fender AVRI 62 mint pickguard, some off white pickup covers and light cream bakelite knobs
Pickups are the P90 Hybrid JM from ThePickupWizard
I used a traditional JM bridge for once - I have 7 other Jazzmasters with Mustang, Mastery and whatnot so this is something different lol

Sounds great, plays great - love the colour!

Thanks again to Dan Katz (Deed_Poll) for the custom body - it's really light, resonates well and is flawlessly built... an absolute dream of a guitar!

Just beautiful. I have to say I'm dying to know what it sounds like.

Also, I'm very interested in the physical balance of the guitar. No neck dive, etc., I'm assuming.
