NAD: 1949 Champion 600

Post by Andreas N » Thu May 09, 2019 7:38 am

So I found this little Fender on a website and I just couldn't resist it.

Seems to be a 48-49. serial 786.

It sounds real cozy at max volume, breaks up great.
There is some weird crackling though, need to get that fixed.

I really dig it, love old amps.

Wow! True point to point wiring! That is also the most adorable output transformer I’ve ever seen! Sorting out the crackling should be pretty simple, given the relative lack of things to go wrong in an amp this simple. I love it!

That is really cool to see. Between the internal wiring and the speaker, it looks like the 1940's. And I mean that in the best way :-* :-* :-* 8)

Looks brand new on the inside & an old Cab on the outside? Or is it just the camera?

In any case authentic old Champs are fantastic Amps.. Especially for Recording...
