Adorable final shows : Yannis!
I wish there were some way I could make the London show, but I can’t.

Re: Adorable final shows : Yannis!
I am totally stunned that these are actually happening...initially I thought it was a hoax!
I will definitely try and get a ticket this Friday, but I have prepared myself for disappointment, as the venue in London is really small...I think they are underestimating the demand for these two shows...still, I will report back if I manage to get a ticket, and if I do go, I'll shoot some shaky iPhone video!

Sweet. Didn’t realize how small the venue was. They could sell that out here in Seattle. I know a few dozen that would go for sure.

Yeah it's weird...the other venue of the second date is in the middle of nowhere...I actually had to look it up on the map!

I played Bush Hall in 2007. It's a beautiful little venue, kinda felt like The Last Waltz in miniture!

I like their second cd and saw them at the roxy in LA, way back when. The bass player and drummer did not seem to like the other two and the bass player wanted to fight some audience members who were trying to pogo. In fact even before the lasts notes were done ringing the bass and drummer ran off stage.

The first show sold out in 3 mins....they added one more...I will try for tickets again today...but I am not hopeful...
They really should move these shows to a bigger venue.

Re: Adorable final shows : Yannis!
Three of them haven’t picked up an instrument in 25 years..one is a headmaster..I recall a ‘where are they now’ article saying they all left music immediately and became maths teachers or something.
So that’s probably why there is only a couple of gigs..career commitments etc.
Must be really odd having played your last gig at 25...then just stepping back in in your 50’s. They will have to rehearse like crazy to get match fit!

Excellent! I never got to see them live. I saw thousands of bands back in the day, so Adorable was one of the few that I liked that I missed.
It’s interesting that they are doing these shows at all, and if they were truly committed they might have played more shows and bigger halls, but they don’t seem like the living nostalgia sorts other than these 25th reunions.

It is definitely strange! I initially really did think it was a hoax...I was actually in a mild state of shock throughout the whole process of getting my ticket...like it wasn't really happening...it looks like they are busy with their "real" lives to go on a proper tour, which is a shame in a sense...Pete has been recording and touring for years...but maybe the other three don't fancy it.fuzzjunkie wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 12:27 pmIt’s interesting that they are doing these shows at all, and if they were truly committed they might have played more shows and bigger halls, but they don’t seem like the living nostalgia sorts other than these 25th reunions.
This really is the re-union show that I never thought would happen...life is strange!

How big of a draw is Adorable in the UK?fuzzjunkie wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 12:27 pmExcellent! I never got to see them live. I saw thousands of bands back in the day, so Adorable was one of the few that I liked that I missed.

From a North American perspective- I get Ride, MBV and Slowdive pulling big crowds on their reunions. But I have a hard time seeing adorable pull more than a couple hundred. If that.

Hahaha!!
I had the same feeling the first time I saw James Dean Bradfield or Paul Draper in front of me....pint-sized for sure!...now, Thurston Moore, on the other hand...

I was just checking to see if this show was still happening and it looks like they added a 3rd night. November 1-3?
I hope anyone that got to go enjoyed it!
