JM Rexter/Dano/Spitfire

Post by HH1978 » Wed Mar 06, 2019 2:20 pm

This is long overdue, as this project has been completed a couple of months ago. I post this to pay tribute to our own Rexter's fantastic work.

Specs :
- Rexter JM ash body, firemist silver metallic
- Danocaster neck (I bought this neck a couple of years ago from a forum member)
- Vintage tailpiece/tremolo
- Staytrem bridge
- 1965 neck pickup
- 1959 bridge pickup
- Traditional JM wiring
- Spitfire aged mint green guard

That is all kinds of awesome!

How much did those pickups set you back?

Man, every day I spend on this forum I get closer and closer to splurging for a good maple fretboard jazzmaster.

Uh :w00t:
I'm not that into the relic thing, but this one goes way beyond those considerations - the colors, the subtle alterations to the headstock shape (dang, this is one of the coolest 'almost the original shape...but not quite' pegheads I have ever seen), the blend of old and new...It seems to be oozing mojo out of every crack!

Thanks to you all for the sweet comments.

I don't remember exactly, because I bought those pickups a couple of years ago. I think somewhere around 350€ for the set. The bridge pickup has been rewound by Mojo pickups (UK).

Man, I was so tempted to buy that body from Rexter (or one just like it)...
My new and undisputed absolute favorite colour on offset guitars! Congrats!

Late to the party here. Wow... Hugues, that looks amazing, such good taste, knew you were a classy gentleman!

I have this weird preconception sometimes that the metallic custom colours MUST be paired with a dark rosewood neck,. but damn... that's beautiful. Helped of course by the fact the neck is finished by living legend Danocaster. Got to admit I'm very flattered and encouraged to see something I've made alongside his amazing work. :-* :)

Thanks for posting and hope all is good for you.
