Newville Guitars look cool

Post by Mandeezee » Sat Mar 30, 2019 8:28 am

Came across this website today. Look interesting, anyone in europe seen or played these? Didn't check to see if they ship to the States but was kind of curious of how much these would cost here in the US.

Very Kauer-esque indeed! Feels also a bit Duesenberg-y to me.
Prices are nice too; sub 1500 Euro's for a small builder is not that much.

They aren't offset though, which irks me as they look the part.

Kauer "designs" borrow quite heavily from other designs too. I never got why, some some builders can get away with that but not others. What is the criteria for acceptance? Being a member here?

I like those quite a bit. Very curious if they would ship to the US.

Ladies and gentlemen, we've reached peak market saturation.
Remixing the remixes...? Yawn.

I refer to it as Kauer-esque because they borrow from a lot of the same design elements as Doug does. I'm not saying who came first; just that they have a similar look.

You can't deny they look alike..

Those two look alike because they’re both Kauers.

I find the only similarity is the smaller pickguard edge on the bridge site.

Maybe the color combination while Kauer have often Gold Hardware with those type of colors..but other than that nope

Guitars need to have the essential parts placed like knobs, bridges, trems, tuners, pickups etc..other and mostly all basic designs was already maked in the past 60 years so if they is no new freaky color with banana oil inside or the headstock curled on the back of the guitar they will always look like others.

Many boutique designs look alike and all of them are mostly based on Gibson or Fender designs..

Btw the Kauer in the thread look like a JM mixed with a Duesenberg Paloma 🙄

Most boutique guys take the Taco Bell approach... As seen on Larry Mal TV.

Add a lot of makes in the mix and take design cues or flat out steal their designs.

Add a Mastery for street cred and done.. 👨🔧

Aww, you remembered.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

I dig them. Not a fan of the headstock, I much prefer the Kauer headstock.

Who makes the other Kauer-esque guitars?

Those look really cool! Also really like the color choices.
Anyone know where exactly they're manufactured? On the website it's not entirely clear and those are damn good prices for european made guitars from a small and rather unknown brand!
