It wasn't. It ended exactly two months ago.

In the biz NAMM stands for "Not Available until March or May".

IIRC the Alternate Reality stuff was going to roll out every few months. The CV Squiers weren't going to be shipping until late-March to April.
They have to let dealers get to see the gear, and/or get info/samples from Fender reps so they know what they should order for their business. Big chain stores were up-to-speed before Xmas but independent dealers mainly find out everything in January. This lag time is normal.
A good example of this is the Offset Series was announced at Summer NAMM '16 and didn't ship until that October.
I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

What is weird is that they also have a VM Jazzmaster in Sonic blue but with a tort pickguard instead of white.
From the picture it looks exactly like the new SBL CV Jazzmaster.
The specs are different though.

Looks like they might be actually available in the US soon too, I just saw this demo version for sale on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/DEMO-Squier-Cl ... SwCtJcmTb0 The new Squier logo is taking some getting used to but otherwise the white and tort is a nice combo!
