This blonde/gold Jazzmaster in the header is gorgeous.

I guess it's either a custom build or off-brand cause of the bridge and tremolo. I know there was a blonde/gold/maple Japan JM but it had gold hardware, unless this is that model with the gold replaced.

They also do custom saddles (with or without grooves) ...

Yeah, might be a good resource. I gather the currency exchange doesn’t really help at least in regards to dollars. Not sure other currencies.

It sounds like they don't really do these online though and expect you to show up at the shop.

I could be wrong but it seems like these prices are for 1) installing the saddles and 2) cutting grooves into them to fit the spacing you want, but the saddles themselves are sold at the shop and not listed online.

I thought you might get a kick off this. I found those astronaut guys in this book called Fender Jazzmaster Player's Book. In it there's a section where they compared in detail a Squier, a Vintage JM and a MIJ. They also seem to go step by step into modding a Squier to probably make it feel and play awesome. Here are some poor scans:

Indeed I had the same thought. It goes deep into Pre cbs JM and Jags. Also, features some new models. I'll capture some more pages with the phone and post on the forum. The thing is pure guitar porn.

Yeah, that book looks amazing & totally unreadable!
I'd probably still buy it though, just for the pictures.

This has all the makings of a custom builder with such quality details as brass saddles & a heel adjustable neck, then they slap on the cheapest trem available.

Yeah I guess they can't exactly go with a Fender-branded trem, and Mastery might be out of reach for Japan? Which might just leave it as the only available trem.
