Another Jaguar Pickup Thread
First off sorry if this thread is in the wrong section. I know there are multiple threads on the topic but I'm curious if there might be newer more exciting options I have overlooked for Jaguar pickups in 2019.
I plan to swap out the pickups in my 62 AVRI and I'd like to get a set that are vintage spec as opposed to a hotter or hybrid set. Here are my thoughts so far.
-Fender pure vintage 65 - sound great in demos but a bit on the bright side
-Antiquity 1/2 - sound excellent but do not come waxed in the cover/claw - not a deal breaker but its an extra step for installation. Also did 60's Jags ever come with alnico 2 magnets?
-Bare knuckle 62 Jag (bare knuckle does indeed make a 62 set that is RWRP) - sound demos are based solely on Johnny Marr Jag demos. These sound awesome - might be a tad on the dark side / low output (not a bad thing just an observation) thoughts?
-Creamery - couldn't find any demos but I'm really impressed with their selection
-Fralin - I sometimes run 250k pots in my jag and his pups are optimized for 1meg's - would this be a bad choice?
-Novak - vintage set seems like a good choice - anyone own a set?
-Lollar - alnico 2 in the bridge and 5 in the neck..I am intrigued. Does anyone own a set?
-pickup wizard - appears he no longer offers jaguar pickups on his website
I think thats all the options of looked into so far. What do you use in your Jaguar? What have you tried and didn't like? If anyone has input on these or a suggestion I may have overlooked by all means let me know! I know it sounds like I'm being picky because in reality any of these choices are an upgrade from stock and they probably all sound amazing.
Thanks in advance

I have no idea, they were there just a few days ago.PJazzmaster wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:14 pmreally? Why? My first recommendation would have been Pickup Wizard
I've actually had his early 60's set in a CIJ before and they were incredible.

Mojo pickups in the UK are worth a look, I have them in my Jag (as well as my Jazzmaster and Mustang).
Pleased with every pickup of theirs I've tried. Plus the guy is an offset nut.
Can't compare to other Jag pickups, as these are all I've tried, but the quality of his pickups is up there with the best.

Try emailing pickup wizard. I've bought from him twice, and emailed first on both occasions - he was able to offer options that weren't listed on the website, and also gave a cheaper price than listed.PJazzmaster wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:14 pmreally? The pickups are awesome too!
Cheers

The shop opens on the 1st of each month, and closes once the order book is full. Very reasonably priced.JagWire wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 11:14 amLooks like hes disabled the shop to catch up on orders.Transmission wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 12:04 amMojo pickups in the UK are worth a look, I have them in my Jag (as well as my Jazzmaster and Mustang).

You can see prices on the site all the time - https://www.mojopickups.co.uk/mojo-shop/
