Re: Sell or refinish?
Thanks for the replies everyone.
Based off the responses, seems like it's a split decision lol.
I'll hold onto it as is for a while, and likely sell it later. I'm currently juggling a couple other guitars (selling an opal white hh to fund a great telecaster deal) and have plans to build up a theme jazz so I won't be without one at any given time. That will be my first real build.

Re: Sell or refinish?
Sell.
I've learned this lesson the hard way--if there's anything I want to change about a guitar, then it's not really the guitar I want.
I'll change that thing (sometimes to the detriment of the resale value), and I'll still not be happy
I've even gone through and changed damn near EVERYTHING except like the one aspect I liked, and still not been happy.

Honestly, even though CAR is not one of my favorite finishes by a long shot, that combination would look pretty cool. I always liked mismatched heads and bodies

If the finish is the only thing you don't like I'd refinish.
If it's not a guitar you'll miss though, sell and get or make exactly what you want.
If it plays like a dream and it has everything you want in a guitar, why chance getting a guitar that doesn't play as nicely, or one that doesn't hold tune as well. There's an inherent risk in offloading it if you love it outide of the colour it's painted.

Re: Sell or refinish?
If this guitar sounds and plays the way you like, you may regret doing anything other than keeping it the way it is. If you want to make a switch, build or buy a complete one and see what you have. If that is as good or better than your red one, then and only then get rid of the other one.
