That does it! That's a beautiful solution. I'm really interested, now. This change makes it possible to have a lower height. Different height saddle sets (only 4 needed as pointed out by Timtam) would complete the offering.

So, does the locking screw thread into a nut underneath?
Doesn't look like there's any nut in there.
Or does the set screw wedge the saddle in place to lock it?
And without pushing the saddle up when tightened?

Exactly right, it's counterintuitive but it works nicely on the other bridge I have with the same system. It counts on the saddle being a good tight fit in its track left-to-right. My design currently leaves 0.05mm, that's about a thousandth of an inch either side, so we'll wait and see how well that works.

One way to imagine it might be to picture a set screw going horizontally across the saddle and jamming it in that slot left-to-right. That's basically what I'm doing here, only I'm driving it in at 45° and using the 45° edge of the cone tip to provide that surface. It won't touch the bottom of the saddle channel, only the side. In theory I could cut the lower saddle channel (the channel within the channel) as a hole right the way through, and it should still work.

Subscribed. The new version looks much more practical for adjustments. If the design eliminates bridge and saddle sinking, it would offer a significant advantage in a low friction version, especially if you can keep the cost down comparatively. I really like that the edges of the bridge base are lower, reducing the possibility of a string catching them when rocking, which I think was a missed opportunity on the Staytrem design.

Absolutely right! It's such a huge benefit to have an online community like this. I can roughly explain what's going on in the morning and within 24hrs I have the full spectrum of opinions, experience and suggestions from the people who know most about this specific thing!

Yes it's all been sized up to integrate real hardware!

The set screws for the saddle are M2 - nominally 2mm diameter. All the post stuff is M4 (4mm).

The saddles are pretty big, they very nearly touch each other and the string spacing is 52mm, so they come in as spheres a tiny bit over 10mm diameter each.

I'm curious to see how those work for intonation, I don't think i've seen that before. Very compact design if it works well.

Looks terrific and now also seems convenient to set up as well as use. Is there any reasonable risk of those intonation screws working loose, or should they stay nice and tight?

Wow, quick work on the intonation locking fix! The little intonation screws on top definitely seem like a solid solution. I especially like that there is no risk of intonation/saddle screws poking your hand while palm muting.

If I can offer my 2 cents, the name is good but I'd consider stylising it as "Tuffset". Because this is tuff with two f's.

One thing I’m wondering is if the saddles can be flipped around couldn’t the set screw be in front of/behind the slot? That would mean the string would need to come out of the slot to lock down intonation of course, but would allow heftier set screws to be used.

The bridge could then be shipped with the saddle in the correct orientation for E-E standard tuning and end users can flip them around if needed.
