BTW I have SD Antiquities in my AV65 Jazzmasters. If you want chime, add Antiquity IIs to your list. They have Alnico V magnets and they added a good amount of harmonic richness to my AV65 Jazzmasters, compared to the stock pickups.JagWire wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 9:07 pmI agree. They do the trick but I'd really love something with a little more depth and chime.eigentone wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 8:29 pmFunny, I just picked up a 2005 IBM AVRI62. $800 is a steal. I paid a lot more than you did.
The stock pickups are so-so IMO.
Does Bareknuckle make Jaguar pickups? I didn't know they did and I don't see it on the site.
I was considering Novaks or SD Antiquity (I). Possibly Lollars in an underwound A2 matched RWRP set.
Bare knuckle doesn't sell Jaguar pickups on the website, but last I heard they will make you a set if you order the telecaster pickups and include in the notes that you'd actually like a set of jaguar pickups. I spoke with one of the sales reps and he said they make a really nice set based on a 62. Much like the ones in the Johnny Marr signature except RWRP
Me I am looking for a mellower tone which does driven tones better so I would go for Antiquity (I), among SD's offerings.

Supernice Jag! And, yes, funny story with the finish!!
Normally I love matching heads but this model always looked great as it is imo.
What about the AVRI pickups?
Interesting that you also don´t like it.
Most people I know n person say that they are great..
I always thought that they where not really good at last... Too thin sounding, too much treble...
not as bad as the CIJ ones, but never really good..
I had good experiences with the Pickupwizard ones as replacements.

I bought a pair of Lollar pickups on a Black Friday deal that I plan to put in replacement of the stock AVRI '62 pickups. Hopefully it won't be too long before I get to do this!

I had a pair of pickup wizard staggere pole jaguar pickups in a cij years ago and they were killer! I just want to try something new I suppose. I'm a big fan of antiquity II for jazzmaster, I've never had the opportunity to play a set for jaguar.supersonicjazzmaster wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 11:13 pmSupernice Jag! I kind of like them. I’m interested in your subjective opinion on the differences in those pickups!

Re: NGD! Early 2000's 62 Jagur AVRI
I'll let you know as soon as I get a new set in! The stock pickups really aren't bad, its only the bridge that leaves something to be desired.
I'm not sure I haven't looked for white switches. I know I've seen at least one set on a Bass Vi project, but they may have been a custom one off job. I like the cream knobs but I'll eventually put the stock ones back on. They're after market and not as nice feeling as the OEM knobs.
*Update*
I found a friend who lives in the UK to send me a staytrem woohoo!
