Re: Favourite Fender Colour
To admit, if you asked me two or three years ago, I would have said: no metallic finishes for sure... but man, OSG has changed me!
It's (aged) Firemist silver and (aged) Ice Blue Metallic before Sonic Grey as my top 3.
Matching Headstock and neck Binding whenever possible.
After these come (in no particular order) Sunburst, Vintage and Olympic White, Charcoal Frost Metallic, Black, Oxblood, Sonic Blue, some other blueish and turquoise tones...up to Surf Green then long nothing...
...
Sherwood Green (sorry folks, that one just doesn't work for me as a guitar...not even as a car), Fiesta, Dakota and Candy Apple Red being very far down in my liking... and last of all is Antigua.

Re: Favourite Fender Colour
I can only hope Squier will revamp the VM offset series with Sherwood Green & few other special colors. Hell, they’re using SG on the CV Strat. So why not? It would certainly resurge new interest.

Re: Favourite Fender Colour
I like 90% of the colors in the poll but my favorite has to be aged\yellowed (greened out) Lake Placid Blue. I currently own Sherwood, Surf, Seafoam, Sonic, Fiesta, Charcoal Frost, and Dakota. Honorable mention to Candy Tangerine which looks pretty close to some of the aged\yellowed Candy Apple Reds I've seen.

Re: Favourite Fender Colour
Oly White with a matching headstock and a nice tort guard is a proper look for a Fender offset. Not very exotic, but that’s my pick.
Burgundy Mist is second in line for me.
I also like a good garish target/clown burst.

Re: Favourite Fender Colour
Depends on the guitar for me. Offsets and Jazz Basses in flashy metallics, Strats and Teles in soft 50s colors, P Basses depending on maple or rosewood necks. No love for sunbursts.
But Sage Green Metallic is pretty close to the best on everything but Teles.

Re: Favourite Fender Colour
In general, Ice Blue Metallic (or Firemist Silver, which is very close IMO).
In practice, though...
Strats - early '60s sunburst with dark rosewood or later '60s Olympic White
Teles - Olympic White with rosewood... paisley with maple
offsets - most metallics with matching headstock or Olympic White with really good Spitfire tort

Sherwood green is overrated. I would take Sage green metallic over Sherwood without hesitation. How many people who voted for Sherwood green actually have one? Is it just lusting after a vintage color because of limited availability?
My vote goes to Graffiti Yellow. I didn't always like yellow, but once you realize how great a graffiti yellow guitar is, it'll always stick with you.

Sherwood all day long! nothing to do with rarity. I only have the CV strat in that colour- which isn't really sherwood, but i still like it.

Re: Favourite Fender Colour
I'm sure having something slightly less common helps for every rare colour (and vice versa for common ones - e.g. candy apple red is beautiful but ubiquitous).tammyw wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 3:59 amSherwood green is overrated. But for me at least, it's more that it's a really beautiful shade of green. Reminds me of British Racing Green formula 1 cars from the 1960s, and also the green power ranger (my favourite when I was little!)

Where is the original custom colour: blonde? Very upsetting!
