Re: Budget Bighorn & Bullet Deluxe Builds
Loving both builds! Budget builds are always my favourite since I never have money for new/high end gear plus people get super creative when they can't blow big $ on parts.
Also, how strong does the headstock feel with the glued on extra piece? Really want a hockey stick headstock and am considering this route

Re: Budget Bighorn & Bullet Deluxe Builds
Thanks. Budget build are the most fun for me as well.
I've cut and glued many headstocks without any issues. That being said, I've only done this to the south side of 6 inline headstocks. I've never cut and glued up anything that the tuners mounted to. If that makes sense.
I've almost finished the body. Just waiting on Mr. Postman to deliver a sheet of pickguard material and a neckplate.
Had to fill a little tearout that happened when I wasn't paying attention to the clamps. Fortunately it'll be tucked away under the paint and pickguard.

I've been to one World's Fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing i ever heard come out a pair of headphones.

I get what you mean in theory it should be fine since theres plenty of guitars that have "wings" glued onto the headstocks right by the tuners.cooterfinger wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 4:26 pmThanks. Budget build are the most fun for me as well.

Either way, great looking builds

Re: Budget Bighorn & Bullet Deluxe Builds
Thanks guys.
I finally had some time to make the pickguard and drill the string thru bridge on the Bullet Deluxe. I still need to order a couple small parts. Knobs and string tree but it's done build wise for the most part. I'm going to paint it red. Just haven't decided what red yet.
Here's two more on the home stretch. A Goldfoil Duosonic and a Musicmaster ukelele.

You always have the coolest projects going. I must say that First Act neck suits that body perfectly!

Duuude that Musicmaster Uke is effing insane!! Why fender hasnt made something like that is beyond me. They might think "nobody will buy that" but they underestimate how many of us offset loving weirdos are out there that would be all over oddball stuff like that!
