NAD: FSR '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue

Posting this a little last but got this amp on Christmas from my wife (though, she got a lot of help from the advice you guys gave me on the MB!).

It's the FSR Bordeaux Blues version -- it has a Weber VST12F150 speaker which sounds great to my ears. The previous owner put JJ tubes in, so to be quite honest I'm not sure how this compares to the original tubes, but my 60th anni MIM JM sounds amazing through it. I enjoyed playing through my Super Champ X2, but switching to the DRRI, there's no comparison.

My main concern was being too loud and I wanted plenty of clean headroom. I don't have any problem playing in my garage and the amp being too loud. It certainly sounds more full, but not overpoweringly loud - turned out to be perfect for my situation.

Thanks to all that chimed in on my amp search-I gained quite an education!

Congrats! Glad it worked out for you...

The JJ's are an upgrade over the the Stock Groove Tubes... The Weber I can't speak for but they're known for quality Speakers.... I'm curious what it would compare to?

Enjoy!

Well done! I think that you will be very happy with this amp. I doubt very much that you will encounter a situation where this amp won’t be just the thing. I don’t know anything about the particular Weber that’s in this one, but I can say that they make good stuff. I love the Weber in my Tremolux.

Thank you - the color looks even better in person I thought. Even my wife thought it looked “pretty” and she’s hard to please haha The amp is a total joy to play-definitely that fender clean sound I’ve been searching for.

I'm pretty sure I had a 10 inch version of that Weber in a SF Princeton Non Reverb that I had for a while (replacing a totally over-the-top EV speaker that it came with) ... and it was a fantastic sounding amp after the speaker swap out.

That Weber compared favourably to the vintage Oxford in my other SF Princeton - they really are a great sounding speaker.

I've got a Deluxe Reverb with a Weber in it. Such a wonderful amp that I can never play because of my neighbors. Maybe it's time to get out of the city...
