I also like this one a lot. It's a beautiful design.

Very nice guitar. The pickup choice pimps it up.
But your logo reminds too much of:
Do you have this beer in Australia?

Which one is better?
ignoring pickup and bridge options.
I've been getting obsessed with old Eko designs.

They're both good designs but I prefer the upper one. It just looks cleaner and more balanced to my eye. What would it look like if you made one somewhere between the two?

What’s your process for doing that stepped headstock? Just a router jig that you move around? Or does the neck move?
Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb.

I prefer the top one, but I’d like to see slightly more body on the treble side of the centerline.CROSS_guitars wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:40 amWhich one is better?

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
I attached a template to the headstock cut to the shape of the swoop.
I then used a rounded router bit with a ballbearing attachment to follow the template.
It's kinda' risky the way I do it but I have a steady hand.
I'll post some detailed pics the next one I do. I'm working on a Starcaster headstock at the moment so I'll document that.

I see what you mean. I'll see what it will look like if I shift the centre line up a few millimeters making the waist on each side equal distance.marqueemoon wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 9:34 amI prefer the top one, but I’d like to see slightly more body on the treble side of the centerline.CROSS_guitars wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:40 amWhich one is better?

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
I shall concur with the others, the top one has more of the 'Cross' looks to it than the other. Nothing wrong with the second one, but the upper horn of the first one is more streamlined while the second one has more of a Hagström flavor to it.
Oh my what a beaut'. That two-level headstock is a nice finishing touch. What's the trem/bridge combo on this one? The tremolo looks a bit narrower than your run-of-the-mill JM model, but it might just be an optical illusion...CROSS_guitars wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 6:56 pmThanks everyone!

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
It's a typical import tremolo. I think it's the same as the Japanese Fender ones, which are a bit more narrow for some reason.
The bridge is a tune o matic with nashville studs. Pretty perfect combo. stays in tune and doesn't pop off the saddles.

I like this better. The subtle differences in the pickguards helps the look, especially the lower one where it extends beyond the tailpiece.
