Add Bigsby to Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster ST (stop tail)
Hello! Long time lurker, first time poster. I recently picked up a Deluxe Jazzmaster with the stop tailpiece and I'd like to add a tremolo. Would a Bigsby B5 work? Anybody done this mod?

Yup, you can do it quite effortlessly with the Vibramate adapter for a Bigsby B5. It works. I've done it.flatwoundup wrote: ↑Wed Nov 14, 2018 1:58 pmHello! Long time lurker, first time poster. Consider a Deusenberg trem... It's a drop in replacement

I unfortunately do not have one of it with the Vibramate and Bigsby on it. I ended up selling the Jazzmaster Deluxe body and using the Bigsby on another project. Here is a pic of the Deluxe body it was on:flatwoundup wrote: ↑Wed Nov 14, 2018 2:42 pm

I did have it on this body and it did work just fine with no issues. I had a rocking mustang bridge on it as well via the grub screw inserted through the bottom of the threaded inserts method though. I'd recommend you get a roller TOM bridge or do one of the many mods of a mustang bridge exemplified here on this site if you're gonna add the Bigsby.

The Vibramate and Bigsby B5 are drop in replacements as well. So is the Bowen Handle, Les Trem, and Schaller vibrato systems. There are quite a few that are designed to utilize the existing posts of the stop tail to anchor the vibrato system to without modification to the guitar itself.

Thought about that, but I'm a Bigsby man, so I'm gonna go that route.
