Re: Setup of the day
Looks like it’s the Quilter Micro Block on the floor + a 1x12. Good looking setup.

Re: Setup of the day
With the EQ all the way to the left (fully scooped) it sounds Fender-esque. The Blackbird's preamp section seals the deal. If I was in a touring band, I could see just bringing these two pedals instead of an amp and using the speaker in whatever cab or combo was at the club. That said, the sound from the Quilter's headphone out is super lame. Not convincing at all.Unicorn Warrior wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 9:55 amAh..did not see the quilter! Very cool. Love both those guitars. However (and I feel so old asking this) is sounding like the trashwoman good or bad?s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 7:48 am

thanks. the jaguar is an ash body. it is so heavy, it weighs 3 times what the mustang weighs.smjenkins wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 6:28 pmLove both those guitars. However (and I feel so old asking this) is sounding like the trashwoman good or bad?s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 7:48 am

erm.... i think it's good but i know lot's would disagree. they were a 90's all girl surf rock/garage rock/punk band. their songs were so lofi and nasty sounding.... in the best possible way.

Got it. For some reason I thought it was a slang saying. Which I now really want it to be.s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 6:31 pmthanks. the jaguar is an ash body. it is so heavy, it weighs 3 times what the mustang weighs.smjenkins wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 6:28 pmLove both those guitars. I also want to check out the band. Thanks for the pointer there.

Re: Setup of the day
This + At Mars Specialist is my go-to setup lately. This guitar sounds fantastic plugged straight in and the pickup is really hot (though not at the expense of clarity), so my board is currently overdrive and distortion-free. Now you know who bought that Rhoney

Re: Setup of the day
Sometimes, I forget how fantastic a simple, two amp setup can sound.
Reverb dimed on the ampeg (so dark!), Champ clean and punchy.
SO. GOOD.
Then, with both amp trems going at different rates
I need to remember to record some of that.

Re: Setup of the day
Thanks, SteveO! It's an early '70s J-12R Reverbojet.
Goddamn... that amp gave me some worry/trouble and cost a bit more than I'd hoped, to get it to run quiet - but I'm so glad I didn't give up on it! The verb and trem are significantly different (in character), compared to the Fender amps I've always played. I'm kind of obsessed with that amp, right now. Yesterday, was the first time I had a moment to string them together like that and I'm super glad I did.

Re: Setup of the day
Me likey, but I would add a fuzz and/or a Rat to that and then play Jesus and Marychain or Raveonettes all day and twice on Sundays.
