I’ve always kinda been drawn to offsets, even before I started listening to a lot of artists that plays them (or rather, before I knew the artists I like play them). But it was Omar Rodriguez Lopez that actually inspired me to buy my first offset I guess so he definitely gets a mention.

Otherwise (in no particular order):
Nels Cline
Jeff Tweedy
Annie Clarke
Marnie Stern
Kevin Shields
Johnny Marr
John Frusciante
Emily and Theresa from Warpaint
Courtney Barnett
Tom Verlaine
Troy van Leeuwen
The Ventures

Peter Koppes playing a Jazzmaster in the video for The Church's "Under the MIlky Way" was what got me interested in offsets. Most of my favorite players user them...J Mascis, Steve Malkmus, Tom Verlaine, Johnny Marr, Sean Eden.

Hard to choose...

But i'd say

Josh Klinghoffer (the one who got me into offsets)
Kevin Shields
Johnny Marr (because he influenced so much of my favourite bands...)

My Mount Rushmore of offset players has Tom Verlaine, Nels Cline, J Mascis, and Sean Eden of Luna. There are many many more but these 4 inspire and amaze me every time.

Didn't see a pic of her until nine pages in.
NINE FUCKING PAGES?!!

Polly Jean Harvey... Come on.
Props to the two guys who called John Parish.
But nobody said Polly before that. >:(

JImi, J, Bob Smith, Dean Ween, Tom Petty, The Yoof, Rowland, Blixa, Elvis C.
Shields and Bilinda from MBV... fairly sure I read Sterling Morrison mention he used a Jag on a couple of the later Velvets albums...
Pretty sure I saw a VERY old B&W clip of Johnny Cash's guitarist with a JM somewhere.
Honorable mentions for Tom Morgan from Smudge, and Rick Ocaseks Pink JM too.
And Mark Arm, but not Steve Turner because I'm not into Mustang vibratos. ;)
Plus Gareth from Drones/ TFS,
And Steve Lucas of X ( the Aussie mob), who had a battered old white JM I'm pretty sure belongs to Jeff Fisher, who ended up in the Laughing Clowns eventually.
Saw Lucas with the JM for a few songs on the old ABC "Studio 22" TV gig, with Jeff Fisher back on 2nd guitar circa 2000ish. :wtf:
Cant find a still pic, I'm not posting videos.
But I also have a bootleg of an X show in 78, and Jeff Fisher has that very same guitar on the cover, missing a pickup and all.

...saw a pic of Robert Pollard with a Jazzmaster too.
And Tad Doyle.

Late edit: Kim Thayil, if a S-100 counts as offset?
Think there might be a Jazzmaster on one of the later Soundgarden albums somewhere? I dunno
That'll do.

Post edit edit: Scientists era Kim Salmon with the Burgundy Mist Jag/master custom thingo with Coronado pickups.
Might have even been a Coro neck on that?

Jag / nado?? ???

That'll really do.

No... wait, there's more. ;D

Martin Plaza from Mental As Anything played a Jaguar for ages.
Martin Rotsey from Midnight Oil, & he and Jim Moginie both used vintage offsets in their other band I've forgotten the name of... Duhh :-[
Coxy from the Fauves used a righty Jaguar, but he's a left-hooker like Mr. Jimi.
If you think that looked weird, Hendrix did it too. With a Jag AND a JM.
I preferred the Flaming Lips lineup with Daniel Jones on guitar, and Wayne used the JM that Drozd later adopted.
Their live sound at that stage was feckin awesome.

Lou Barlow used a XII with earlier versions of Sebadoh
And Roy Wood from the Move had a XII the same colour as the one I want to trade for.
Then there was the guy in that Rita Mitsouko video from way back... Gad, that might even have been the eighties.
I spent a lot of time making myself forget that decade. Bleeargh.

Guy Picciotto with a Rick 360, they're offset aren't they?
Is the Guild S-200 an offset? If so, Muddy Waters.
Stopping now.

Lately, Gemma Thompson of Savages has been pushing all my tone buttons. What she generates with the Duo-Sonic II, Jag, pedals, and the hand-wired AC30 makes my brain happy.

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Ha, indeed! I was wondering why he is not mentioned often in this thread. Such a great musician.
