Re: Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar Lake Placid Blue Release
I've always wanted a Marrguar. LPB is the best it'll ever get for me. Unfortunately, it would be my 4th blue Jaguar so I guess I've already scratched that itch a few times too many
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

This is the lowest-grade scoop possible, but think it's behind not-Albert in this video?

In truth, it is the only forum of which I’m a member, that requires signing up for an account at another service in order to post photos.Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 9:46 amSeriously don’t understand how people have a hard time with this when it’s the same as literally every other place on the internet. The forum doesn’t host your pictures and that’s not weird or old fashion, it’s normal and it’s not difficult.Kent wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 1:25 amThey are releasing the LPB unit. I was at their booth yesterday and also took a picture of it. I’ll be damned if I’m going to jump through the hoops that this forum requires for the simple act of posting a picture though. Isn’t it about time to step into the 2000’s? I mean, we’re all fetishist for 50-70’s guitars but can we at least have a modern platform here?
I can understand the requirement for Bandcamp or Soundcloud embeds but webforums are a visual medium and, again, this this only place that wants me to creat an account somewhere else to do so. Nein Danke. Just update the forum software.
Remember being held hostage by PhotoFucket or whatever? Lost all those photos stretching back years.

Reverb's 'Coolest Guitars at SNAMM 2018' ... dang ... he said he was going to pick up the Marr but then goes for the tidepool Player series instead ...

I can see his point about the price point. The tidepool Player may be the poor man's LPB-like jag. It's easy to see it being popular if you're not cashed up for the LPB Marr. Will be good to hear more about how its coil split bridge pickup sounds compared to traditional jag SC.

I don’t think I’ve ever posted on another forum that doubles as an image hosting site. I’d suggest tiny pic which is free and doesn’t require signing up for anythingKent wrote: ↑Sat Jun 30, 2018 12:58 amIn truth, it is the only forum of which I’m a member, that requires signing up for an account at another service in order to post photos.Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 9:46 amSeriously don’t understand how people have a hard time with this when it’s the same as literally every other place on the internet. Re: Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar Lake Placid Blue Release
What a joke.
The Marr is only a color addition to an existing model that is based upon something that has been around for decades. There are many more interesting guitars at the show.
At the end of the video, the Nutter guitars are shown. They are really cool and are made by just one guy. No CNC! He’s crazy! The guitars really nice.

Good then that's it's only a 100 buck mod to swap the Player pickups for AV65's. And maybe a 4-way to give you Am Pro wiring (swap the upper switch to phase). Or even full Marr wiring.

Re: Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar Lake Placid Blue Release
Anyone know if you have to remove any hardware (other than screws) when switching out pickguards on a Marr Jag? I want to put a Spitfire guard on one.
Thx!

Re: Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar Lake Placid Blue Release
I see no reason to complain. It's a really well refined guitar at a very decent price point for a US made. If not for the non matching headstock the LPB model would be my dream guitar.Kent wrote: ↑Sat Jun 30, 2018 3:45 amWhat a joke.

Re: Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar Lake Placid Blue Release
I gave the reason(s).
Best In Show? There must be some kind of a manufacturer/retailer deal going on. That product has been out for years and there was some very interesting stuff from newer brands that could use the boost in presence.
I work in this industry. I know what they're doing. They are either being:
lazy and/or unimaginative
or
currying favor with a large manufacturer via their popular platform

Is there anything different besides a change of color on this model?

Can someone explain to me the simplest way to post pictures here, bet you’re dying to see the new color, but I’ve got no idea how this forum works.
